found some for $275 buy now on eBay and some for $300 on CL which could probably be haggled down $20-25

Great deals, Maxwell is still alive by all means, people fail to understand the gap between high end maxwell and high end pascal is not as big as it seems expecially if you're sticking to 1080p ~ 1440p

looked at ebay for 980ti and they are all mostly above 300 and the the one that 275 does not work

Yes, the 6GB model has not only more VRAM, but also better specs overall. Go with the 6GB model.

yeah im aware of that. Im thinking of getting it as i will be playing games that will use more than 3gb of vram

Honestly, both are great cards. My personal views on price differences is the following; "If the difference is less than the price of a $60 game, then it's worth the upgrade."

But that's just my line of thinking.

Because the 6gb model will last you far longer than the 3gb. Especially since games now are using about 3gb of vram at 1080p.

i totally agree with you, i will also be getting rocket league for free with it which is a $20 game.
