gtx 1060 6gb for $265

Newegg is selling the evga gtx 1060 6gb for $265 and the 3gb is selling for $220. Is the $45 price difference worth it?

i mean the average price of that card before the mining craze was 240 so its not a terrible deal just a bad one.

i was about to buy a 980 for $219 but i was a little too late on the offer.

it's not only the vram, the 1060 3gb has worse specs overall too

that would be the case if the 3 gb version was a 1060 6gb with 3 less gb of ram but it is a cut down version as well so it will strictly have worse performance across the board.

this is true but if im sure it has less cuda cores. I will be playing ark though which is a memory intensive game.

honestly its kinda nvidia's fault for branding a cut down version of the 1060 as simply the 1060 3gb version. its borderline false advertisement.

Yeah on eBay I found a 980Ti for 275 buy now, some under $200 bid, 1 under $100 bid.

still have to keep in mind that i have a 520 watt psu from seasonic. it will also be paired with an i3 6300 so a lot of performance will be lost.

but it's still better. Even if it bottlenecks always get the best GPU you can afford, so that if/when you upgrade your CPU your game performance jumps up. Check your local Craigslist as well. 

 

Paying an extra $10-35 (3.8-13% more) for a 40%+ performance jump is a great deal!
