I'd say R5 1600.

 

R7 1700 has low base clock speed and 8 cores. If you don't do rendering, editing as such, then no point to get that.

 

i7 7700 is a good gaming option, but it's on a dead socket.

I'm looking forward to build a new system.But I'm kinda torn between two processors.My GPU is a GTX1050Ti(I know ,t's not that good but it fulfills my expectation and I'll upgrade it later) and I want to play all kinds of games (e-sports,indie,AAA) at high (ultra if possible) details and 50+fps.Should I go with Ryzen 7 1700 or i7 7700?They are similarly priced and I won't do any overclocking.

btw for gaming it makes no sense to get an i7.

i've got two 1600 rigs and they are amazing, both OC'd to 3.8 on stock cooling and are quiet. Happy as hell for the money, all the power I could need for anything I throw at them. 

 

Don't think i'll even go back to intel, only intel that makes sense is the 4650 and thats entry level.

Intel has a habit of changing socket every 2 generations. 2nd Gen Sandy and 3rd Ivy share LGa 1155, 4th gen Haswell and haswell refresh use LGA 1150 (to be fair, no 5th gen for desktop). LGA 1151 is used on both 6th gen skylake and 7th gen kaby, so I'd expect another change in socket.

I was thinking of buying a decent CPU and upgrading the GPU rather than the former.So socket type won't hurt me that much.I just want my CPU to be fairly decent in both performance and durability aspects.

Just checked, 1151 will have 1 more new gen of CPU..... Again, 1 more generation only. Less than AM4.

I would get the 1600X or 1500X (comes with a cooler) since the CPU's will overclock themselves.

Neither AMD or Intel have known durability problems if you run stock speeds.

Get a h110m and a g4560 all you want is to game with a 1050ti any ways, it can keep you going until we get into 10nm, no point for either processors, you pair a i7 7700 with a 1080ti not a 1050ti

I'm not sure but I think coffee or cannon lake will be LGA 1151.

 

I'd probably recommend a 1600 since 7700k is a bit overkill and 1700 isn't better at gaming than the 1600.

It's not overclocking itself, it's just their turbo boost doing its work.
