MSI Armor vs ASUS Strix

Hello.

Long story short: I'll buy a GTX 1060 6GB, RX 580s aren't really available for a reasonable price where I live. I narrowed down my options to the MSI armor and the Asus Strix. The price difference between those would be 30€. Which one should I get?

depends on what aesthetic you want and if you want to go for price performance, silence, whatever. if you have an asus ROG motherboard i would personally lean to the strix purely because of continuity and asus aura.

I don't have a ROG board but an ASUS Prime X370-Pro. But RGB lighting isn't that important to me since the PC has to go underneath my desk. But silence is important to me.

Strix has a better cooling design.

If you care about silence, get the Strix GPU

As a 1060 Armor owner I will say that I wish I went for the Strix/Gaming X just for aesthetics. It only gets loud when my ambient is like 34C, but so will any cooler. 

 

If you're sure you'll never look at it then get the Armor. It doesn't look as good as it does in the pictures

i know why rx 570 and rx 580 have no reasonable price. ( bit coin )

Msi and asus is a good brand. I think you should buy product from Msi( Msi armor). The guarantee of msi is better than asus

they are both the same in acoustics i think (atleast within 2 dba range), so if you only care about that i would just go for whatever is cheaper. asus has a more aggressive fancurve for their temp from what i read so you could maybe change that and get a quieter card.

wait ignore that, i was looking at the msi gaming x whoops. although they are still within 2dba range at stock
 

asus strix 1060(oc so its already overclocked, so its louder than it has to be especially since it stays low temp)

The MSI aromor card would be factory overclocked since but the Strix one wouldn't since the OC version costs more the the non OC one.

I'm not sure about the MSI 1060 armor but I think at least some Armor cards use the same PCB the Gaming X uses.

For your case Strix should be fine, but it's more expensive because the coolers are 3 and "claimed" better than EVGA's ACX cooler

Zotac AMP! would be another option. This card would cost about 10€ more then the MSI armor one at the moment.

AMP! Is great at overclocking, Strix is the enemy for that
