Lowest GPU for 1080p FPS 60 less

sehab084
Go to solution Solved by Darkseth,

If you don't have enough fps, you reduce Quality settings. NOT Resolution.

Resolution is the thing you reduce, when you already hit LOW settings.

720p on a 1080p Monitor in Ultra will look much worse, than 1080p in Medium.

You pretty much... Always run the native resolution, period. Except higher with DSR / VSR.

I have GtX 1050 and RX460 in my mind

i want to play newest games in 1080p with high dont need fps more than 60 can it be done with RX 460 2gb ram? i am willing to set the setting to mid but not low and willing to go 720p if needed

1080p high - GTX 1060 6GB or RX 480/580
1080p ultra - GTX 1070

at least 4GB VRAM is recommended for 1080p

As an (ex)-owner of a RX470, imma disagree how a RX470 is only for medium 1080P as at high/ultra with no Aa/msaa/ect. I was surpassing 60fps almost always :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

The 1060 and 480/580 can play most games on ultra at 1080p

The difference from RX 570/470 to GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580 is not that high, if you can play a game in high in RX 580, you probably can in RX 570 too.

I got my rig built last week. I haven't tested many games but outlast 2 and GTA V run super smooth, touchwood, at high very high settings on my gtx 1050 ti dual fan. If you are playing games at full hd resolution, you really don't need an x8 anti-aliasing. You can lower it to get some FPS boost without any loss in quality.

My advice: Don't bother with how many FPS you are getting. Just see how playable the game is. Games are very much playable around 40fps too. What you really don't need is the stutters.

No! You got some of it wrong!

1080p Medium - RX 460/ RX 560, GTX 1050

1080p Ultra - RX 470, GTX 1050Ti/ GTX 1060 3GB

1080p Ultra/ 1440p Medium - RX 480/ RX 580, GTX 1060 6GB

1440p Medium/ High - GTX 1070

For esports games, yes you're right
For 30FPS in modern games, you're right too

Your list is flawed. An RX 470/570 can do 1080p high with almost no problem at all. Also for most of the games he's playing, a 1050ti (which you seem to not remember its existence) would be sufficient seeing as he wants to play on high and maybe a setting or two medium.
