Yes but if you're going to go through the hassle of watercooling you should get the GTX 1080 instead since the process is not easy and only makes sense on a card that can take more advtange from the overclocking, you could say that water cooling a 1070 is pointless since it doesn't suffer from thermals to begin with nor it'll help noise at all when comparing to the already dead silent Strix.

Depends on how much noise bothers you as the FE is louder, other than that no other difference really...

 

If you are using a small case the FE is better since it blows the hot air it makes to the outside instead of cycling it inside the case like the open air coolers do.

The Founder's Edition is a blower-style card which is going to be loud by design. You want that Amp edition if that's your only other option. Gigabyte's Windforce lineup is pretty quiet too.

There should be cheaper AIB 1070s out there than that.

i was think more on the performance difference than the sound to be honest. if i got the founders edition i would probably watercool it

What about Gaming X lineup?

Yes it is the quietest coldest card you can get using air cooling.

makes sense just watched a video on the stix and on load its " wisper quiet " so il go with the strix. only £29 more than the founders edition as well
