Screen tearing on second monitor after windows 10 update

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

Your problem is more likely that you're using win10 creators update with an outdated CPU, there has been all sort of compatibility issues between Microsoft latest OS and old hardware.

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask You all for help.

After a recent windows update i started having a problem with my second display.

Whenever it's displaying content that is moving, like a video or just scrolling the browser, the screen starts to act weird - it tears, some kind of artifacts are showing up, it starts flickering. I've recorded what is happening here:

My setup is as follows:

FX6200

Msi R9 280x

4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz

Asus M5A97

Samsung 750 SSD

Corsair VS 650W

main screen: Iiyama ProLite E2409HDS over HDMI - this one works good

2nd screen: BenQ G2400WA over miniDisplayPort->VGA adapter.

So far I tried:

Swapping from my old DVI->VGA adapter to mentioned miniDP-VGA. For about an hour it looked like the problem was fixed, but it came back eventually.

Using different VGA cable

Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

Thanks for any tips!

~Illi

This gotta be the most ridiculous and hilarious comment at the same time for today.

Thx for the lul.

Outdated or not, reverting recent "Creators Update" did worked.

Thank you Princess Cadence for a suggestion, and thanks to everyone responding in that topic.
