I get like 14 - 100 on BF4 depending on the server

I know my uncle gets 8ms to uk servers, but then others get like 18ms, ping is important to me and on bt currently I get 10-13ms to uk and around 120ms to USA, don't really wanna go to Virgin just for the speeds, latency is more important.

yeah I have played games with ping as low as 9 etc it depends on the server

but ive never had it at like 1200 or anything crazy,

There should be no issue with latency, I have had 0

I think my mates dad beta tests gear for Virgin media, this might be a reason why.

But yeah 9ms to me sounds nice :P.

I'm back in contract now with bt, funny thing is, we were paying £27 for 80/20 and when I called retention, I said I can get 100/6 for £21.50 from Virgin and they now charge only £21.20.

6 upload isn't all that great, but I'm sure they might have put them up by this time next year.

na they dont, thats the issue with copper cable, bt think they're the best company yet use standard shitty copper cable for the last stretch, if you were guaranteed the 80 down it would be ok as then you have a garunteed 20 up, luckily for me the cabinet is very close so getting 80 isnt an issue for me but it is for many others who get false quotes.

If you ping a local device it should be <1ms.

@zephiK You need a less than 1Mb/s option. AKA, ISP is throttling you and doesn't give a fuck besides money.

I'm sorry for living in a civilized part of the world with good internet speeds :P

But here is your proof:

I get 205.76Mb/s on my ISP speed test btw, so yeah... we are "artificially limited" the network could easily do Gigabit

Paying for 100/100 on fiber so this is decent enough (even tho I don't understand why I don't reach full speed since they also sell 500/500 on this line).

200 ms and only 20 Mbit are not FTTH, for sure.

Im pretty sure that my internet is FTTH because of the isp and i saw the fibre when they were installing the fibre box thinngy to my home. Its just my ISP sucking plus my package is only 30/5.

When fiber delivers that kind of garbage, the connection to the appartments have to be 100 year old copper connections that are entirely useless crap.

Aaaa i live in a 3 floor bungalow and the wire just installed 4 years ago. And if u are saying that i get shitty ping when connecting to a server a continent away, then its the isp that is shitty. Though it is generally agree here that the isp is a monopoly and it sucks.

Well in Cornwall, England I am just about shy of the maximum limit of ADSL 2+.

Though this speedtest was done via WiFi.

Comcast recently upgraded their speed in my area. I was at about 30 Mb/s down a couple weeks ago. I'm in love with this new speed.
