Noctua NF-A14 or Corsair 140M Pro for NZXT X61

davidst95

Hi, I would like to replace the fans on my NZXT X61 280mm radiator.   I'm thinking about either getting the 2x Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans or a 2 pack of Corsair ML140 (non-led).   Both come out to be the same price.  How could I tell what one's are better fans?   Are there other fans out there that are better than these two for an AIO radiator?   Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't know of any fans that would be better for an AIO rad, but as a Noctua fanboy, I would personally get the Noctuas. However, I might switch to Corsairs (I want to try a 120mm out first) if they turn out to be quieter. I'm personally not sure, but I've heard great things about the MLs from Corsair.

The twin pack of Corsair ML140's are absolute killers, for its performance and its bang-for-buck factor when compared to the all-black or LED ML line of fans.

Asides from being 140mm fans, they're not in the same category. NF-A14's are quiet fans with decent performance whereas ML Pros are high performance fans that are relatively quiet.

Why are you looking at these fans in particular? Are you not satisfied with the stock FX V2's on your x61?

Hi, thanks for the reply.   I was thinking about replacing the fans because I was looking for something a quieter when the fans are run at higher speeds.   I assumed that the NF-A14 or the ML Pros would better than the stock NZXT fans that came with the X61.   I read the fans on the X62 had also be redesigned.

What cpu are you cooling and what are your temps? Have you tried lowering fan speeds?
