Corsair RM650x Blown Up

My 90 day use, corsair Rm650x PSU blew itself up while being switched on this morning.
Should i rma it or switch to a new PSU

Switch. I like corsair, but I only trust their HXi and AXi series PSUs.

Still under warranty, and for those wondering how it died, i switched it on this morning and it blew electric out the back of PSU
Any recommendations for a replacement PSU

Oh wow. that's a pretty rare as rmx are regarded to be very good @STRMfrmXMN Might want to take a look at this

How much can you spend?

EVGA G2/G3 is very good

 

Basically, anything on the first rung of the PSU tier list

Which the RMx, RMi, and HXi are all based on the same CWT platform. The main difference is that the RMx lack Corsair Link support, single rail, and uses rifle bearing fan.

Any power supply is susceptible to failing and even blowing up; otherwise, there isn't a need to have a warranty. Your RMx is a high-end, high quality unit that has a 10 year warranty so RMA it.

To avoid the issue occurring again if it was a specific thing to that series PSU, knowing that its not now i will just RMA the PSU

RMA it!

If that happens on a regular basis, you have to do something about your electrical installation and maybe use a UPS...

So roughly 2 weeks later and have received a replacement from corsair and it works fine again

I'm glad to hear that.

I'm also RM650x owner and I didn't have any problem with it so far. Hopefully it will stay that way for many years
