A Million questions from a PC Hardware Noob

I just wrote out a whole introduction paragraph for this thing and hit the trash can when I went to turn off italics. Linoos plz fix. Okay here's a bunch of questions I have:

  • On older pre-built cases is there a way to tell what each case input plug corresponds with without deconstructing the front of the case?
  • How many HDD power connections does a standard EVGA power supply come with?
  • Is it possible to build a sleeper build in a Windows XP era case using modern hardware?
  • If a mini ITX case says that you can only use GPUs up to 190mm long if you want to use an HDD, and your GPU is 191mm, would it still fit? (The case is the RVZ02)
  • When I use PCPartPicker, it says that certan H110m motherboards need a BIOS update before use with Kaby Lake S CPUs (Pentium G4560). Does this only occur with LGA 1150 socket H110m motherboards, or do LGA 1151 socket motherboards need the bios update as well?

I'll be back with more questions tomorrow, I'm just tired and want to get some sleep soon.

1. Not quite sure I understand but most likely not

2. Depends on which EVGA. I'd say enough for motherboard to handle (i.e most mobo have 4-6 SATA ports so safe to say they can go around that)

3. You can try. They could be exaggerating the number for safety

4. It occurs to all Skylake motherboard. You can read a very detailed guide about it here:

ummm,. you can't use lga 1150 with kabylake - and it occurs for anything with an older chipset i.e. z170 h110m b150

also, 1mm shouldn't be a big deal, file off some plastic if you have to, and i don't know what you're talking about in terms of front panel i/o

they're all clearly labeled

probably

Very tight, you may need to consider cutting the shroud on the GPU

H110 is LGA 1151 not 1150.  1150 has the Intel C222, C224, and C226 chipsets.[4]

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

After further inspection of your pcpp link I noticed few things

1. That motherboard might not work with your processor.

2. That PSU is not of the best quality out there. I'd suggest swap out for a Seasonic SSP instead (less wattage but higher quality)

3. I'd avoid Gigabyte cards for now, also I would try to get a GTX 1050 instead for similar price and more performance a bit.

I remember hearing that LGA 1150 mobos were compatible with Kaby Lake after a bios update. Also the case is an old E Machines case and was really cheaply made so either the labels somehow wore off, or they did not put them on at all because I couldn't find them.

you heard it wrong; lga 1151 motherboards with the h110, b150, h170 and z170 chipsets support kabylake after a bios update.

could you link me to a motherboard that you think is compatible?

Would this motherboard work?
