so i have a ryzen 5 3600x, radeon 570x gpu, gigabyte aorus b450pro, a samsung 870evo 1tb and 2 x 8gb of ddr4 ram. I am just about to upgrade my cpu cooler to a scythe ninja 5 and add 3 more case fans, giving me a total of 6 rgb case fans. Is 550w enough to run this? websites such as partpicker and the coolermaster one say it is, but on other websites I've seen that my graphics card recommends 450+ is the 450 just for gpu usage? or should I be upgrading my psu too?

Hi guys and girls! i finally got all the prts and can now present my first ever own build. Thanks especially to: @Naijin @martward @Bobbycat2414 @minibois for the help in finding the right information for parts. I still need to buy something to get all fans together, so i can control them all at once, but otherwise extremely happy!

Hi people It's me again with the silly questions... So I bought all PC components and now I'm waiting on the last part (my Ryzen CPU). In the meantime I wanted to set up my Motherboard. As I wanted to use old SSDs I already own in addition to the NVMe drive I plan to use for the OS, I was curious as to how many Drives I can actually install. Link for reference: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550-AORUS-ELITE-AX-V2-rev-10#kf I'm a complete newbie in PC building. The board itself has two M.2 slots (one for an NVMe, I believe) and four SATA 3 po

Hey everyone I am planning my first build and just fell into the usb c headers rabbit hole due to the stream of today. So the case I want to use is the Lian Li LANCOOL II Mesh wich has the option for a USB 3.1 type c. i just found out dat not many motherboards have the necessary header, so I found some but those have usb 3.2 (gen2(x2)) and could not find any info if those headers are the same? Secondly the motherboard that I had In mind is the: Gigabyte B550M DS3H. Which has 6x USB 3.2 (Gen1) headers is it possible to use a adapter to use one header for the usb 3.1 type c?

I asked on Tomshardware and Reddit but didn't really get any answers. I was going to make multiple posts but I'll ask all my questions here. I'd put a pcpartpicker link but most of my parts aren't even on the site. I'm starting with a pretty much stock HP Pavilion p7-1534 if someone wants more detailed specs. Please don't say "get a new mobo", I'll be fine with this it's my first build I don't need something crazy. I have 1 stick of 8GB ram in my pc that I'm trying to upgrade, eventually getting get 3 more? But I want to make sure I get the right one. The model number o

I'm entering a theatre production program next fall and will need a beefier computer (the whole set-up, I have NO parts currently other than a wireless mouse) than the laptop I currently have (an HP Pavilion laptop, bought in 2018, has Intel UHD Graphics 620 and Intel Core i7 - 8550U at 1.8GHz/1.99GHz, RAM 8GB, and 64-bit OS). Not sure how much of that info is needed but the requirements for my new computer are below. If I say anything that doesn't make sense or if what I need is way out of my budget I do apologize, I don't know much about computers and their parts and what they should cost; I

Hello, I just built (upgraded an old prebuilt) my first pc. I kept using my old case and gpu. SPECS: Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 plus wifi cpu: Ryzen 5 3600 cooler: stock Wraith Stealth gpu: RX 580 Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x8Gb DDR4 3200 MHz Storage: WD Black SN750 (500Gb) PSU: Corsair CX 650M BIOS VER: 2802 What is happening is when I boot, it goes to BIOS immediately. My chassis fan 2 spins up, which is the fan that came with my old case. My Cpu fan does not spin up, instead it rotates about a quarter rotation and stops, t

Over the past couple months, I've been looking at different build and consulting this forum for ideas and I think I have finally come to a final build. I'm looking at using a Ryzen 5600x paired with an MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio (When it comes back in stock at msrp((yes, I know that will be a while)). Comment your opinions on it below. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Genericbot1/saved/Ryw4sY NOTE: I'm reusing a 2 TB hard drive so overall I'll have 3 TB of storage which should be more than enough

francisco11235 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, First of all, thank you very much for all your help, I have been reading this website and watching your youtube videos for really long time before deciding to build my first PC. It's a great place to learn! Having said that, I just put together my first build with the following pieces: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Motherboard: MSI X570 Tomahawk ATX AM GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 Super 8GB - Asus turbo RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 C16 SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS- 8 replies

So a few days ago, my pc randomly rebooted for the first time. After that, it was all downhill. I am trying to install Windows on an empty SSD from a bootable USB stick, but my pc doesn't boot ANYTHING anymore. All that happens is the manufacturer logo shows up, the ez debug leds all turn off and

I have a powerspec PSU and it's been working fine for the past few months, but I've seen it receive low ratings and people have never seemed to recommend them. As a MicroCenter house brand I'm not sure how reliable they are and if I should trust the one I'm running now. I have a 650W 80+ Bronze unit. I just want to have a safe PSU that will run well for years and not have any short or long term issues. Thanks in advance for responding, I know this is an odd question considering I'm probably 1 of 3 people to own one of these lol. Stay safe and healthy, happy new year!

Preface: Since I am deciding to gift my girlfriend- who is running a poor ol' laptop with integrated graphics to play games and have a good time- my current rig, I am planning to have my true powerhouse of a PC- my first build. And, hopefully, my only one in a long while. Hence, I am going to choose parts that are powerful, not too expensive, and above all - reliable. This project will start ASAP - under the condition that I have moved out to my own place to live. So I can technically start as early as March 2021. Another consideration is that I am not at all interested in RGB components.

So I'm planning on building my PC next week and I have a question about RGB fan compatibility. I will be using the Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard, and my case is going to the be the Msi gunner 11m . The case comes with 3 RGB fans and 1 non RGB fan , and as far as I know the motherboard has 2 hybrid fan headers and an RGB header. How would I connect the 4 case fans to ensure the RGB works? Do I need to buy a fan splitter/hub to be able to connect the fans? I think the case has a basic controller built into it. As far as I know I'm supposed to connect each of the RGB cables of the fan

I'm in the process of planning out my first pc, and I noticed that I could get the Ryzen 7 2700x at roughly the same price as the Ryzen 5 2600x (60$ difference). As described in my first post this will be mainly a gaming/streaming/editing machine with optional workstation tasks. Picked the parts i could find and are more or less available. The idea is to kinda see if there are any good deals after midnight and buy one of the options. CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X (bought, no arrival ETA yet -> planing to use 3rd gen as transitioning-cpu so i can already game: Ryzen 5 3600X or Ryzen 3 3100 will this work?)
