good graphic cards for $250

no such thing as "better" for now amd has the 480 for 200 usd price the fury for 269 usd (if you can find it, most of them are sold out) which is a step behind gtx1070.

if you are looking for a card for

1080p 60 fps get a 480

1440p 60 fps or 1080p 144 fps a 1070

Yeah there is. It's just hard to say when there is no clear winner. Right now amd and nvidia are pretty neck and neck where they are competing.

pick yourself up an xfx one like:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150774&cm_re=xfx_rx_480-_-14-150-774-_-Product

but also look into that r9 fury, it offers better performance than the 480, though does have greater power consumption:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202186&cm_re=r9_fury-_-14-202-186-_-Product

i suggest you avoid xfx they have bad support

wasn't aware ^

i myself own an xfx rx 480 and the performance and cooling is there, but I guess I haven't had to deal with the support myself so I guess thanks for the warning ;)

What? That's ONE GAME... Also don't forget the gains came from how horrible the game ran in OpenGL, not AMD magic sauce.

Jesus Christ people.

? for the future one card is better, most people won't buy a card for a single game. drivers are getting better for both parties Nvidia focus more on 1070 and 1080 rather than the 1060. yes its not magic also "One game" you can say that for every game.

For the rx 480 I personally would recommend the xfx rx 480 rs/gtr. Either one is very good But the gtr is better of the two. I myself am running the xfx rx 480 rs 4gb version and have had zero issues. Absolutely love it.

not sure what you mean, if you're asking what it is it's a way of using multiple graphics processors simultaneously to increase performance:

  Reveal hidden contents

If you were asking what would be the point for your usage, there wouldn't be. unless you buy older cards there are no two cards in your price range that have that capability (even if there were it would be pointless as despite having two cards you get less than double the performance and increased power and thermal issues)

I have 6 case fans wit a 750 watt power supply.... is it good for a r9?

No, YOU are basing the 480 being better off one god damn game that ran like shit on AMD for MONTHS. I'm sick of it. Jesus Christ.

The two cards are equal, the trade blows, game to game, driver to driver. Get the cheapest and call it a day. Gad Damn.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I'm going to respond in bullet points, consider it a metaphor.

  • Overclocking affects the results and is not considered properly.
  • When the test is performed and what driver is used affects the test.
  • The rest of the system, affects the results.
  • Both companies offer good and bad driver support, and any given driver can see one having an advantage over the other.
  • Which build of the game is used greatly affects the results.
  • Finally, I distinctly remember saying get the cheapest. The point of contention is the idea one is better.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Can't go wrong with a Fury, best bang for the buck available right now new.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202186&cm_re=fury-_-14-202-186-_-Product

Listen to this guy. Fury is insanely good value.

1060 6GB = 480 8GB

However, the 480 4GB is now around 10% faster than the 1060 3GB and has a GB more VRAM.

The 480 is still gonna improve in the future because of AMD getting their shit together with drivers to push the full 5.5Tflops from this thing.

idk
