1440p 144hz 16:9 or 1440p ultrawide

Astralye

I can't decide since i'm going to get a a gtx 1070 and i want the smoothness of the 144hz but the immersiveness of the ultrawide but i don't really consider 1440p 100hz ultrawide as i prob can't afford them. Can anyone recommend me which one?

I would rather get 16:9 1440p 144Hz.

But that single GTX 1070 won't be able to run everything at 120+ fps.

GTX 1070 can handle 1440p ultra settings at 60fps. Just wanted to throw that out here.

I was thinking to lower some settings in some games to get the 144hz but in more casual games i'll have ultra settings and the gsync at prob 80fps

1070 can't run games at 144fps unless you lower some settings. I would take ultrawide

Okay, just wanted to make sure you know how powerfull GTX 1070 is, and what it can acctually handle.

But as long as you have g-sync it will be awesome :)

Did you ever have ultrawide before? I had it for few weeks and I almost went nuts lol. I just wasn't able to get used on it. But not everyone is the same so you might like it better than me :)

Ultrawide 1440p has a LOT more pixels than a 16:9 1440p panel. A 1070 can run most games at pretty high framerates (approaching or exceeding 100), but I wouldn't expect it to behave as well with an ultrawide.

When in doubt, re-format.

Games like Doom or BF1 run ~100fps ultra.

I'm well aware of that.

But most of the latest games are running at 60fps. Then again you can just lower some settings in those and get higher fps :)
