College Thesis PC Builder Helper

JvTran

Hi guys
So I've been watching Linustechtips for years now, and I wish to ask the linustechtips team, along with the community for your help. I am a graphic designer and my thesis project is to create a program (website or app) to help new coming pc builders build a computer doing minimal research. My project will include creating an interface and picking and choosing pieces for your rig similar to pcpartspicker. However, mine will choose a top 3 popular choices for different prices points, such as high end, medium, and low end. With making the parts easier to gather.

However that is not going to be the hard part. I also proposed creating a modular instruction guide, creating a special step by step guild for each unique build. Although things a pretty universal as a whole, have a personalized make it easier for the builder, knowing exactly where pieces go.

So now I am running into the hurdle of getting proper specs for cases. I need imagery, so I know exactly where screws holes, fan hubs, and a clear view of every nook and cranny of cases. Essentially a blueprint of said cases so I can find out how to go about creating a modular instruction guide.

I am literally just starting my thesis, and I am turning to linustechtips community for help.

I apologize for poor wording and grammar, but I hope you understand what I am trying to do.

Thanks
JvTran

P.S. i also am not sure if this is the right forum to be posting in... i hope so hahaha

So what do you want? What do you need? A set of 50 pictures of every case made? Because there are loads of them, and most of them are also different...

Maybe I jumped the gun, but I just like a nice source of pictures?
I wasn't very sure if there was an easy site to look for, or if I should just study them throughout what the internet already has to offer.

I literally just started this project, and I'm just trying to find sources right now.

I know of one good source...

Pcpartpicker. :)

Though if you want step by step directions, most likely you'll need more pictures than what it has to offer. Manufacturer sites as well as places like newegg are probably the best to go to. Review sites like Anandtech might be helpful as well.

Also, this isn't the right section. It's supposed to be for people posting guides and tutorials about stuff, though I can easily see how you made the mistake.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I actually don't know :D. Maybe general? I don't really know since this isn't a common type of post...
