Show Off Your Old Tech!

ionbasa

I started my own thread, and a mod merged them.

Oh, my bad then.

The stars died for you to be here today.

A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world.

  • 3 years later...

So there's the show off your old and vintage computers and parts thread but it doesn't include non computer tech things, so I figured maybe I'd start my own. I'm not sure if anyone's tried this exactly before but if they did I don't remember seeing it or if they did it didn't last long but let's see if maybe this one can.

So I'll start off, I recently picked up a Sanyo Superbeta player at a Thrift Store, it's a VCR4027 made on August 10 1985. I need to replace some belts and clean up the insides, everything electronic seems to work but the mechanisms need help, that might end up being a project I do with @Dan Castellaneta next year because well he's been kinda interested in betamax for a little while and well when I found one both of us were interested.

a bit of forewarning, I'm a bit too lazy to resize these images so I'm just gonna put them in spoilers. I also apologize for the mess just don't have a whole lot of places to show it off and it needs some more through cleaning...

I have this beast, an Onkyo Integra A-817XD integrated amplifier from 1988.

I bought it on ebay in 2017 for a ridiculously good price, it shipped from Japan, the previous owner probably was a smoker judging from the smell that came from it.

Cleaned it, hooked it up and i've been enjoying it since, its incredibly strong and absolutely everything works, the headphone amplifier on it is great as well.

To adequate to modern usage i've since used a Creative X-Fi Go! Pro soundcard, then a Topping D10 and for the past 2 months i've been using a Loxjie D10 DAC.
