Fluffinator

Is Evga ever going to release there Titan XP? I've been looking at getting one but want one from Evga instead of Nvidia.

Maybe NVIDIA is sourcing it themselves, like they do with Quadro.

I don't see what the difference is anyway.

I think the ones sourced by Nvidia arn't as good as 3rd party ones. Same with old Titan X, heard the Nvidia ones were always slightly higher quality.

But you don't need a Titan XP... You're playing 1440p 144Hz, a 1080 will suffice and save you a ton of money. Hell, you could almost get TWO. Yes TWO! 1080's for the price of a XP, and in most games that a single 1080 won't reach 144Hz without some simple graphic settings tweaking, the game will probably support SLI.

All the frames though! And I don't like SLI too much.

I've never grown into the Titan lineup though, they just seem to extremely overpriced for what you gain, which isn't much.

I dunno I usually get the Ti version when they come out but I've been looking at the XP to possibly future proof my setup for a few generations.

And when a new generation of GPU's release, they become irrelevant until a new one releases.

The Ti set to release in January and AMD's top of the Line Vega cards are coming up to, I'd hold out with your 980Ti. Especially since the Ti version is usually within a few % of the Titan in that generation.

Only problem I have with AMD is there VR technology is slacking compared to Nvidia's so I would not buy one regardless.

Sorta is, Nvidia has a lot of things it's developed to make SS on vive games work really well. With AMD it's really hard to get any sort of decent SS settings. Comparing the cards currently out there.

Still, 1080Ti will more than likely = Titan XP for $400 cheaper.

from what happened  with the original titan, after the 980ti was released, they got a lot of returns on the titans and i guess it hit for a pretty penny. i would guess that sourcing them until after the 1080ti comes out is their way to mitigate it perhaps? This way if you desperately needed a titan, you can get it, but they can directly control it until theyre ready to let it loose.

Well they never let me down before. Which is more I can say for the 980's and 1080's. But I never tried the classifieds so there's that.

NVIDIA shut the board partners out of the Titans this gen. If you want a Titan X Pascal, you have to get it from NVIDIA directly.

CPU: Ryzen 1600X @ 4.15ghz  MB: ASUS Crosshair VI Mem: 32GB GSkill TridenZ 3200
GPU: 1080 FTW PSU: EVGA SuperNova 1000P2 / EVGA SuperNova 750P2  SSD: 512GB Samsung 950 PRO
HD: 2 x 1TB WD Black in RAID 0  Cooling: Custom cooling loop on CPU and GPU  OS: Windows 10
