the puz shows stock speeds? not the overclocked speed you use for the benchmark. 

because you have a locked cpu

lower the core and higher the memory it might give you a higher score and keep it from artifacting. 

 

Yet GPU-Z shows them at stock clocks? 

 

Am i missing something? 

 

Oh I think I took a screen after resetting to default, my bad.

Wow yeah you did, cause I got 1250 core 1850 memory on my 280 game stable.

 

 

Switch to MSI AB or Precision X and you should have more.

I had a custom fan curve on mine on a BIOS level cause I edited mine, I would say 85C is to hot. You on stock paste?

Nope, I replaced it a few times. With NH-T1. Also on a custom AB curve, fans running at 100% at 75+

ON your memory? Wow, I got 1850 on my 280's memory.

 

That's on a 280. If you got a nice 7950 or 7970, you could go even higher as the 79xx overclocks higher.

Fucking hell, thats hot. Even with my card on auto 11% fan speed was 74C on my 280 Gaming.

that is a big jump in score :) i would set the fan speed to 100% running the benchmark. lower temps will probably reduce artifacting as well.

The 280 was god on memory MSI cards always tend to do the best and have best overall mem OC.

My ambient is also insanely high. But it's pretty cool right now, so probably just a bad chip sadly.

Your hitting a TDP wall then, I had the same issue just modded my BIOS to 450W.

yeah, you reach a point where you need more core speed as well as memory. 1853 is much better than before though.

I love MSI, I'm probably going to get a BigBang XPowerII. Also, aren't you getting a X99 Xpower? I'm so pissed off w/ ASUS. I will never buy another product from them again. 

I am thinking about it the one I need to get is the newest XPower AC on X99 from them if I get one, otherwise it will be OC Formula from Asrock. But then again the Xpower has been so good to me that I might as well get it again.The 295x2 though its like crazy hard to find again.

Are you getting a 295X2? Prices have dropped after the 390X launched.

there isn't any stock in the uk any more, so no. i dont think i would buy a new one now anyway.

I am thinking about it the one I need to get is the newest XPower AC on X99 from them if I get one, otherwise it will be OC Formula from Asrock. But then again the Xpower has been so good to me that I might as well get it again.The 295x2 though its like crazy hard to find again.

 

You've had problems w/ ASUS right? They broke my board in the RMA facility and are charging me for it. So they lost a customer.
