$1200 Gaming PC Build (Advice Needed)

Ducklings

So I've decided to upgrade my old gaming computer as I'm not getting the desired fps for most games. I will be salvaging my 120gb ssd, 1tb hdd. I'm making this post for a few reasons. First I'm not sure whether I want a i5 6600k or an i7 6700k. I plan on doing a majority of gaming, with some editing for a few YouTube videos (possibly streaming in the future). My second reason was because I'm unsure of what motherboard and ram I would like in my build. I am set on getting 16gb of ram but generally unsure what speed I should be getting and what motherboard. I'm also interested in cpu water cooling if its within budget. Finally I will be doing my shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so the price is flexible (preferable nothing over $1350). I'm open for all ideas!

Also I will be going with the NZXT s340 Elite build as apposed to the regular NZXT s340 ($99), pc part picker wasn't updated with prices for some reason.

For your specific specs I think Reshi gave you a pretty good foundation to tweak. There is talk that places like MicroCenter may do some big CPU/Mobo combo sales for black friday so you could maybe get the CPU and Mobo together for around 300 to maybe give you the headroom for a 1080 GPU.

I switched a lot of components for ones that are a bit better or fit my liking, ASUS and Gigabyte are known for horrible customer support so I chose components from Asrock and EVGA. The MX300 SSD is better overall and more capacity. The P400S from Phanteks is a straight up better S340. The EVGA G2 power supply is about as good but is much quieter.

If you want to watercool, I would start with an AIO, the Deecpool Captain it a nice choice imo. Goes with color scheme too.

Here's a little better setup. 6600k instead of a 6700k, if all you do is game. Liquid cooler, helps a little and it looks sexy af, and I switched out your overkill PSU for a 600w. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/z8t6qk

Thank you all for your feed back! Still looking over all your wonderful builds. I'm very interested in looking into a GTX 1080 if I can save enough money.

If I don't plan on gaming in 4k is the 1080 worth the extra dollars?

Keep this in mind:

Note that it is an older video, so ignore older product names.

Thank you for this, haha.
