Ways to make money?

Any ways to make money? I am currently under the age of 14, so getting a job is out of the question.

Bakery is something I can't do. 

Yard sale: No

Lawn service is something I was thinking of but:

-I can't just go up to their house and ask if they need any help. Nobody will hire me then.

-How much should I charge them?

-I get anxious when I ask someone for something. I mean, I can try to man up, but I'm too scared to do so. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

Well i personnally do cryptocoin trading , but that can be risky and is out of the reach of many . 

 

For lawn service , just go up to their house and know , smile and ask them if they need their lawn to be taken care of. Set a price BEFORE doing so however . 

You could just eyeball it and charge depending on the size of the lawn . I would assume around 10$, but as i've never done it myself i'm not certain )

have you ever heard of bitcoin , litecoin ,ethereum or the likes ?those are virtual currency that want to be an alternative to regular fiat currency such as the dollar or euro . I won't go into too much detail , as it is explained pretty well here:

 

 

 

But basically i used my computer's hardware to "mine" coins ( currently have a couple hundred dollars , not a ton ) that i then wire to a exchange website dedicated to this sort of stuff. the whole thing can be pretty risky and hasn't worked particularly well in my case ( haven't accomplished much )

Wouldn't making that money count as accomplishing something?

 

Can anyone with a computer do this stuff?

 

Or only those with crazy powerful builds intended to only be used to mine?

And yes ,  you need a pretty powerful computer to do this .  Thing is ,  as more and more people mine ,  the harder it gets to mine .  Currencies like bitcoin and litecoin are pretty much impossible to mine with a pc, because difficulty has gone up so much.  

The only way to be profitable ( remember ,  you have to take electricity and hardware costs into the equation ) is to use ASICs,  specifically designed hardware only designed to mine a specific type of coin.  

There are newer currencies such as ethereum or zcash which can be mined with pc's but they still need to be fairly powerful ( in terms of gpu ,  as cpu mining is just plain stupid )

Don't get intro cyprto currency if you have no clue what you are doing. I currenlty only mine coins the second they come out and go until it is not profitable. With Zcash a couple weeks ago it came out I made over $80 in 3 days. I used half for games then used the other half to play the market and wait for bitcoin to drop and Zcash to be high then trade.

If you're a young kid, I think mowing lawns will work fine. If you can use their lawnmower, all the better (so you don't need to buy gas.)

 

Also, you can walk dogs. My parents pay their young neighbor to walk the dog when they're busy.

 

Alternatively, you can volunteer at a place that lets you use your hours as "currency." At my local bike coop volunteers can use their hours to buy used parts, which can then be sold for real money.

You said you've made money but also that you haven't accomplished much.  Doesn't making money mining count as a decent size accomplishment?

While i do consider it an achievement ,  I'm just saying that trading hasn't been particularly effective at generating income. 

 

And your pc isn't powerful enough sorry.  Amd cards are considerably more powerful for this  purpose ,  although this cqn depend on the currency .  You can do more research on the subject if you like though

What do you use for mining that I'd better at it?  I'm curious is all.

 

 

It's not like I'd expect to make tons of money but even a little this way would be rather nice.

 

Besides, I'm not the one paying our electric bill so using power isn't an issue for me personally.  lol

 

(Not that I'd be trying to waste power to be evil.  Just saying a somewhat higher electricity usage by me likely wouldn't be a problem.)

But like I said, I get anxious when I ask people these requests because I have the thought of suspense of getting rejected.

That is part of growing up and getting into the work force or even the world. I will tell you from the point of view of hiring people myself, if you are unable to put yourself out there and show people who you are then you will not be taken seriously. Cold calling or knocking on doors to do yard work is a good way to learn how to be assertive. Being persistent and sometimes aggressive can be traits that others will see in you and think 'hey this kid is confident and will accomplish the task'.

Its normal to be anxious about things especially at your age, there is more unknown than known and age will not change this. I am 35 and I still get anxious sometimes when doing things new to me but I have learned to over come this to get it done anyhow from experience such as cold calling neighbors to do yard work.

Bitcoin passed its point of diminishing returns around 5 years ago... the hardware and utilities (electricity) needed now (per month) is significantly more than what you can make off of trading.

That takes years, I have had stock in my name in Sears for 18 years and have not made much off of it (for selling it now as it has matured to a point of diminishing return). I only get control of it now because I am 18, you must be a minimum age for most companies to allow you to buy stock unless you have it held in your name by a guardian or family member. The stock I was given had been owned since the 1950s and with compounded interest had only accumulated an average of around $113.64 per year...

The best way to get odd jobs is to just put yourself out there. I have dealt with social anxiety for my entire life and I only recently have started to come to terms with it. I have found that the first step is realy the hardest. Once you find out that it is not too bad to be turned down for a job or work, just keep applying or asking around. Eventually someone will hire you or ask you to mow their lawn etc. Before I got my first job I applied to 9 different companies, and stores; I even asked about unpaid internships and was turned down. Every time, I was discouraged; but now I am glad I went through the process. For instance three companies have my application and resume ready for whenever I reapply because I have now formed a network with the people who work in HR there (and have applied 2 or more times at each).

I sincerely hope that this can show that there is hope at the end of the magical job rainbow and I hope that you find said hope.
