Mirror's Edge (1st game) fps cap

ivan134

Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've done some googling, but all I could find was an old method that doesn't work anymore.

No, I meant the 1st game, lol. I didn't want people to think I was talking about catalyst.

Did you try to turn vsync off?

It's off, but it's not a vsync issue. The game has a 62 fps cap. There were older methods to get rid of the cap, but it seems EA patched that for some reason and I can't seem to find any other way around it.

http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Mirror's_Edge#High_frame_rate

Is this one of the methods that no longer work?

It's Unreal Engine 3, so it should be possible...

In some cases like this, you can add the line without it already having a set value. Many settings the engine supports simply use the default settings without them being spelled out in the file. I'm unsure what file, but my educated guess is TdEngine.ini.

As I linked above though, both "bSmoothFrameRate=True" and "MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62" are in TdEngine.ini as well. Whatever else you have to do, you absolutely aren't going to get anywhere until you change one of those settings. Either turn off framerate smoothing entirely or raise the max smoothed framerate.

Alright I fixed the FPS issue. Now I need to know what to do about the FOV. The default is 90 and i prefer 110.

Give Flawless Widescreen a shot. I don't think you can edit the FOV in the config files.
