16GB DDR4 here on an itx build. I seldom use this thing, buuuuut I do use Chrome and have a butt load of tabs lmao

3x8GB and 1x4GB, all running at 1866MHZ.

I have 16GB of DDR3, and I'm using at least 6GB all the time.

When gaming, it spikes even to 10GB.

 

Maybe I have too many programs opened lol

I have 16B and use 6.5GB on startup, most ever used gaming maxed it out at 10GB. Running VM's however... Lets just say I wish I had 32GBs or more....

16gb ddr4, I don't monitor my ram very often to know if I'm actually getting use out of all of it. But I do usually have at least 5 programs going in the background while gaming with no problem . 

 

IE: game , curse , chrome , file browser , monitoring software , maybe  even another game

I find myself using 13GB-14GB not in game so 28GB is fine...

Hmm how do I answer when my two computers (that I use pretty much equally) have different types and amounts of RAM?  (Desktop has DDR3, laptop has DDR4.  I'll answer for the laptop, for now, but how would I answer for the desktop?)

 

Edit: looks like there was a submit another response link, so I went ahead & submitted the desktop info too.

Chrome does like to eat RAM, I've found, especially when I have a lot of twitch / youtube tabs open  Also some online shopping like newegg will spike it up a lot too.  I've sometimes maxed out the 32 GB RAM on my desktop.  (I wish I could have like a TB of RAM like some Xeon based servers can handle, so I could run lots of VMs, edit full-length uncompressed 4K movies entirely in RAM, etc.... but such is life of someone who's not rich.)
