How cold is too cold for a 980 ti?

My heating is basically screwed again and the temps outside have reached 29 Fahrenheit today. It's not as cold in my room BUT there is still some chill to the air. I'd estimate it around 35-40 Fahrenheit. Is this too cold for my GPU/ PC in general? I know there are condensation risks but hell, my temps are great! 17 Celsius on my 980 ti!

the colder the better!

as long as you don't go sub zero, it'll be fine

Doubt you could ever get the card cold enough to cause an issue. 17c is only 3 degrees colder then what my cards see. Still well within standard operating temps.

Thanks for the re-assurance. If my temps continue to stay frosty then i'll go out of my way to keep my heating broken!

Its never too cold.

the only reason a card can get too cold is because if you go below the freezing level with exotic cooling solutions, you might get condensation on the components and short them out. but really, that only applies to sub zero cooling!

You will be ok, condensation inside a building is not rly an issue so u should be fine! Once the rig is running it will not get an condensation form cause of airflow through the rig! U will be alright they like to run cool, u only get issues below zero really"

Its not below freezing that you have to worry about, its just below ambient that you have to worry about. An unless you're running some crazy phase change or LN setup, its physically impossible.

Cards are OC hard with liqued nitrogen the gpu core can reach temps of 10 to 5 degrees celcius.

You'd be dead before your GPU got to temps too low for it to function properly
