The money you saved might go into import duties and what not when it arrives to UK shores. But in terms of the product itself, it should be identical to one you by in the UK.

If you buy a 6700k, you will have a 6700k.

I don't know how the UK handles duties and taxes on items imported into the country.

It might cost more or less, but it really is up to you if one is out of stock

Remember to add in shipping, import tax and credit card currency conversion (so many Cs...).

You'll realize it's not actually cheaper.

I've had two scenarios depending on the courier. 1st time I didn't pay anything at first, but then got a letter from HMRC saying I owed them £80 import duty.

2nd time the courier paid the taxes, but wouldn't release the parcel to me until I had paid them.

Convert the $$ to £ (including shipping) and then add 20%. If it is still cheaper, by enough of a margin compared to the hassle, get it from the US.

The reason it is more expensive in the UK to begin with is because of the import duties, taxes, tarifs, etc.  There is probably no way for you to avoid it, unless you know somebody who could pick one up in the US and fly it to the UK for you and not declare it at customs.

Yep. Like I said. Either the courier will pay it and then charge him, or he'll have to pay separately.
