For a brick and mortar, MC carries quite a few GPUs, but it's obviously harder for them to carry them all.  Where they shine is in the area of CPUs and motherboards, especially when you combine the two.  They have the best CPU prices and often the best motherboard prices of any you can find on the internet.  Then they give you a $30 discount when you buy the CPU and motherboard together.

As far as I know, there's only one physical computer store in my city. They are good to deal with, but stock is a real issue. Not necessarily that they don't have enough space, but they don't use the space wisely. So while you can get good deals on occasion, going to the store can be pretty hit or miss if you are looking for something specific. They do print out like full inventory lists, and have a decent site that keeps track of quantity in live time though. They'll also order things in and give you their in store warranty on it which is essentially "As long as we're in business, we'll make sure you have something that works.".

I don't have any shops that sell computer parts in my state (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany). I don't even know if we have something like that in Germany. Media Markt and Saturn are only selling smartphones, apple products, TVs, monitors, complete systems, consoles etc.

 

I mostly order my parts online, on alternate.de

 

So I can't experience this :'(

I know that feeling ! I also have to order computer parts online, but I'd rather get a laptop or a smartphone from a shop than order it online.

I have yet to buy anything that i could not get my hands on in a physical store since i prefere to know how it feels before i buy, and you can always buy online later anyway if it is way cheaper online

It's pretty uncommon that I buy anything at a B&M.  Exceptions are console video games because I prefer having media.  Most of my shopping is done on Amazon (filtered with Prime shipping) these days. 

 

I suppose another exception was the New 3DS I just bought a couple days ago on my lunch break.  I went to GameStop for that; same price as Amazon... no waiting. 

 

Even our dogs' supplies are cheaper online.

I use Microcenter when I'm in the area (Kansas City, Kansas, I live in Topeka) I love going there, it's good to try out a keyboard before you buy it to make sure you like the switches.

Well considering physical retail stores around here not only sell their merch for a lot more than it would be online... not to mention the 15% tax on everything... and the eco tax on certain electronics...

I'd rather save a ton by shopping online and wait a few days for my stuff to arrive than to shop in a physical location with limited stock and higher prices overall. It's very rare that physical stores offer lower prices compared to just shopping online. And even when it look like they do, once I factor in the taxes, it's not anymore.

Up north here at Canadiaville I like Canada Computers cause they showcase some components out of box. My problem with Best Buy here is the prices are too high even for accessories, cords, etc except for flash drives. But then I check Amazon and similar prices for something way better anyways. So i just get prime and wait

Yep, I know the feels.  If it wasn't for me being in the dorms, all these places would be more than 60 miles away.  (Though I went to the Micro Center in Denver.)

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

Personally, if it's not something urgent or something that I could have gotten by without yesterday, I'd just order it on Amazon. i haven't had the need to run to the store for anything major in months and even when it was somewhat major, I really could've gotten by waiting 2 more days. If I feel cooped up in my house, I'll always go to the store. Cause even if I already know exactly what I want and where to find it, I can still window shop and touch everything.
