Low load game 100% load on all cores???

When playing csgo on low my I5 4690k is on 100% load on all cores

When playing SMITE on low my I5 4690k is on 100% load on all cores

When playing Mount and Blade on low my I5 4690k is on 100% load on all cores

When playing Overwatch on low my I5 4690k is on 100% load on all cores

AND HALF LIFE: DEATH MATCH SOURCE 100% ON ALL CORES ( srsly??? )

It gives so much lag and stutter. It makes games unplayable.

 

 

Previously it was about half to 3/4 load maxed out. Now on desktop all cores fluctuate between 10- 30 sometimes even 40 % load on idle. I need help i checked resource monitor and nothing is unusual. Any tips?

That explains it. Turn it on and you will see the CPU utilization drop down to much lower.

 

Basically what is happening is that your CPU is the bottleneck since either you are playing in 1080p or lower with a high end GPU and the games are not high end enough to get bounded by the GPU.

just a quick question then, as, seeing this post, i was going to see, if this ever happened to me, how to fix it. so, everything i heard about "turn V-sync off as it lags mouse and gameplay" is true or false? i don;t want any lag...

Yes. Here's a good primer on the subject: http://www.anandtech.com/show/2794

 

Basically what happens is when you have VSync on, your monitor shows the last frame which may not be the most up to date frame. So if you're hitting 60FPS, you're introducing 16ms of input lag right off the bat.

so if im CPU bottlenecked, all cores will run 100% and i get lag, to fix it i need to turn Vsync on, which will lag mouse input and somewhat FPS but run much smoother with the CPU not being cooked to heck.

Well seeing OP saying their CPU idles in the double digit range also makes me curious. The CPU shouldn't be idling that high if it's really idling. Like, fresh-reboot-leave-it-alone-for-ten-minutes idling.

VSync may fix it, unless the game still struggles after that but it should in theory make it better. Or if you hate input lag use a program such as Rivatuner to lock the FPS!

What background programs are running? If you have a virus scan going at the same time or some other resource heavy program it could be causing massive CPU ussage

Go to game settings and turn V-sync on.
