Some pretty nice specs, not sure how much the 970M actually costs over the the 960M so not sure how justifable that price is but certainly $1600 is a bit better than $2000 if someone was looking at a laptop in that price range.

Looks pretty good though.

you guys should see the comments on youtube.

Linus is getting schooled hard for using the Poor Man's Blade.

1600 USD to CAD is 2065

1600 USD to SGD is 2160

1600 USD to AUD is 2092

1600 USD to UK pounds is 1212

1600 USD to Euro is 1412

mind you I am an honest working class doing IT support for customers for a small IT firm.

The cost of the laptop is pretty much equals one month of my monthly wages.

there is no way i can afford this "Poor Man's Laptop"

let alone a student.

ok. Check this out. Assuming you are into IT. Then that means you probably invest a good portion of your wages to tech. Lets say 10%.

So 10% of 1600 = 160$.

Assuming you upgrade your laptop every two years then you can technically afford a

(160$ x 12months x 2years) = 3840$ System every two years.

Just to be clear, that affords you a;

1. 6 Core Desktop + Monitor and peripherals = 1200$ + 400$

2. Super powerful laptop = 1600$

3. Ultra Powerful Phone = 400$

4. And  240$ left over for whatever you want.

And this doesn't even consider that you might sell your old tech before moving on.

If you sell your old tech at 50% of its price you are left with

2160 Dollars.

Dude, your a super rich power it person at this point.

Meaning you can always be on the Razor's Edge (Pun Intended) of tech pretty reliably.

But hey, that's just a theory.

:)

Tell me if that helps.

Jesus people are over reacting to the "Poor Man's Blade" thing. I guess you people needed to SJW today. It's a fucking saying that has been around for forever and used on many products. All it means is a product similar to another for a lower price. Apparently you people can't seem to handle that.

I just don't know about plastic housing on 1000+ dollar laptops these days. I mean, if 200$ chromebooks can do metal housing, surely the Aero could without adding 400 dollars to its price, too.

It was an insane deal on cyberpowerPC

The Tracer15-300 was on sale for 985$ or something like that. My dad works for Microsoft, so he can get me Windows 10 Pro for $35, so i ordered the Laptop with no OS, dropping the price down to 925$

as a special 24-Hour Deal, CyberPowerPC were giving away 100$ AMEX Gift Cards which can be used anywhere for anyone who bought something on a back to school deal with American express (or something like that), which lowered the price by 100$, reducing the actual bill to 825USD

825 + 35 for OS = 860$

I wouldn't call the Aero 14 a "Poor Man's Blade", it's still pretty expensive with the 970M 512gb configuration. I would consider their P34 laptops more of a "Poor Man's Blade", especially for how much they're selling now. Check this out.

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-P34Wv5-SL2-GTX970M-i7-6700HQ-Computer/dp/B0195XZV06/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EZNAHS8NDDY3DRG6K9E9

$1,280 for the FHD version with a 128gb SSD + 1tb HDD. The chassis is a bit dated and not as well built, but I think this is about as "Poor Man's Blade" as you can get without getting into Clevo's (which I can't find their 14inch laptop anywhere. To be fair, I wouldn't be interested in that one, the battery life was mediocre).
