ok and so now it wants to install some program that modifys my system32 directory or else it won't lemme log in.

Have you scanned your computer for viruses lately?

I would suggest Malwarebytes or AVG for free programs. Kaspersky or NOD32 if you're okay with buying software.

Please post a Hijack this log file if both of those programs do not detect anything. It's best that you disconnect the computer from the internet and turn it off then back on again just to be safe. I will be monitoring this thread.

In the meantime, please excuse me while I prepare the wards in order for us to excise.

Perhaps you have a new strand of computer virus, the kids these days can get pretty scary with their technology, trust me I know, I watch the news and stay well informed on current events. I would suggest you submitting an image of your hard drive to Malwarebytes, NOD32, Symantec, Kaspersky, and Mcafee labs for analysis.

Ok so defender didn't find anything, and apparently facebook does do this officially. No symptoms at all there is nothing wrong with my system it seems.

No, for that to trigger is rare in the case of a false positive. You might need a few different program suites to scan. Defender isn't really enough. You can boot into safe mode with a USB portable scanner or safe mode with networking and scan using an online scanner.

 

You should consider isolating the computer from the rest of your network to prevent it from spreading.

Run a portable scanner in safe mode on said PC. Safe mode should effectively disarm the assailant and leave him vulnerable to upheaval.

In the meantime, please prepare some incense and look up guides to preparing rituals for your computer for the medieval Japanese god Ebisu [he will only work if computer is <12 years old] or the Hindu god Dhanvantari (up to you, either is valid depending on what you're in to I guess.) Have the PC performing it's multitude of scans with it at the center of your altar for maximum effectiveness

Are you sure you are going to the official facebook link and not a fake one that wants you to install a 'cleaner' that is really malware itself?

 

One thing websites can do to tell if you have malware is if it's literally broadcasting through your user agent string. Go to here and see what your agent string is: http://www.whatsmyuseragent.com/

 

EG, if you had a toolbar installed sometimes it adds that toolbar to your user agent string.

 

Other than that, check your installed plugins in your browser (which hopefully isn't internet explorer) and make sure none are weird.
