The only thing that could explain it is the fact that Ryzen is an SoC, so it has the chipset on the same die as the CPU. Idk what difference this could make, but it's the only thing I can think of. :/

 

AM1 CPUs are also SoCs, if someone wants to try using them. ;)

Here's what I think of it - has to do with memory management, from experience - GTA V on release week for about a month ate so much RAM that it actually justified 16 GB for gaming and it was gorgeous and the view distances were amazing and NPCs perceivably didn't disappear at all, couple months later after people whining that they can't run it max settings on a Pentium with 2GB RAM, R* made a patch that dropped memory usage to like 3 gigs and NPCs started disappearing just as you turn your back on them and stuff just pops in constantly even with maxed view distance

Idk, I haven't used Ryzen and I am not sure I even have this issue TBH. xD But, so far, it looks like Ryzen fixes it

By the way The Tomb Raider game and GTA V are known to have a few of these problems in the games itself, but this is a different issue that affects ALL games, even old ones that I remember never seeing any issues with..

AM1 CPUs are also SoCs, if someone wants to try using them. ;)

Ryzen is not an SoC. SoC's are typically CPU/GPU and sometimes memory, all on one die/chip. Ryzen is just the CPU. Both Ryzen and Intel have their memory controllers also on the same die, but that doesn't make them SoC's. 

 

Ryzen still requires a chipset, as does Intel. A320, B350, X370, X399 etc. H110, B150, Z170/270, X99, X299 etc.

No the menu became jagged and that's when I realized something was wrong. So I checked other games and the LOD boxes where screwed up and so were shadows. So far ryzen has fixed shadow issues and the jaggedness in most ganes. There is still slight shimmering in some games but that's just a known error. But TF2 looks like some appplied a 32K texture pack in it. Looks great now. Everything is really sharp now

Ok, I opened both videos on my two screen here at work and full screened them both at 1080p60fps. That is near night and day difference. 

 

And this is using the same graphics and resolution settings in both samples? If it is, there could really be something to this...

Basically we need the ice to be translucent and a way to calculate light passing through it. Yep. DSR with FXAA looks WAY better. Even with just going to 1440p on a native 1080p display.

I think you might be a little confused. ;) And SoC is a "system on chip", meaning; nearly everything (CPU/GPU/chipset and sometimes memory) is all on one die/chip. SoC's are what you find in phones, tablets and Raspberry Pie PCs. Ryzen is strictly classified as a CPU, I'm pretty sure. Yes, more functions that were normally always on the chipset in previous generations are now integrated on the CPU die (memory controllers etc.) but that doesn't make them an SoC, I don't believe.

Alright, that's awesome. Good luck with the testing, I'll keep track of the thread as usual if you need anything regarding graphics in general. Unfortunately I don't have extensive knowledge on CPUs so I can't really help there, especially a Ryzen in this case. I'm sure there's people on the forums who can help, you should probably find them to explain whatever is going on. Of course, you need to make sure that Ryzen is the game changer here first.
I'd like to point out a great tool with the most extensive graphics options in-game that may help with testing(and it's an actual game aswell), The Talos Principle.
It even has a rendering LOD bias slider and a lot of other very useful filters and AA options that you can tweak. There's even CPU settings, such as rendering distance, dynamic shadow distance, reflection bias etc. You can do all of this in real time and I think you should consider getting it to save a lot of time on testing/documenting.

Also, you should probably specify so other forum members can test out if they have jagged game menus. That's the in-game menu on CS:GO that you recorded, correct?

We tested all hardware change.

He changed Hardware too, but, this time passing from Intel to AMD.

It is not the MB only because I did it 3 times ( allready saif it4-5 times on this topic...).

Changing I5 3570K MB = no effect.
Changing for i7 4790K (and MB) = No effect.
Changing from Intel to Ryzen (MB + CPU): two forumers tell us it works.

What do you want more?

I understand, but I think it would be safe to have actual documented proof so this thread can be a reference point for newer people who may experience this sort of an issue. I was looking for side by side proof of this "hard shift" from the thread when I first came here to help you guys. I didn't get any, however, I can live with Buck recording the jagged menus, that's definitely something, now he just needs to record some actual gameplay comparing various settings and replicate the issue on his old CPU. If you found yourself searching for the solution for this particular issue I think you would rather enjoy reading only a nice, clean and detailed OP with all the proof of the issue and the fix so you can switch to a Ryzen CPU, instead of going through 200 pages of forum threads to find some random NVIDIA/AMD conspiracy based on anecdotal evidence from people with broken English who don't know how tech works. No one really understands why this helped anyway, the only person with any actual info on this is Buck right now. Nothing is certain until someone posts some documented proof and afterwards people with the same issues confirm this. And of course, to put the thread to rest someone should probably provide some sort of an explanation.

Skyrim is well know for those trouble.

But i experience them i all games:

WOT
War Thunder (it is really hard impacted in my case).
Dying light, i stopped playing since it was flickering too much.
Dragon Age Origin is flickering like hell too.

I would like to point out that you can replicate Buck's video examples if your monitor isn't using the correct resolution.

This doesn't have to mean anything, but it's still in the realm of common sense, so I'm throwing it out there. The game menu game modes are being rendered and scaled appropriately based on your resolution. No in-game or control panel AA can be applied to this scene, obviously.

Hope the testing is going well at least.

First example is standard 1080p and the second one is 720p on a 1080p monitor (I've used an old HDTV in both cases).

 

Just make sure that you record your monitor settings as well when replicating the issue. @BuckGup

I am working on setting up both my PCs side by side as comparing from videos is too hard. It's sorta driving me insane a bit as I can't tell anymore. But I will say shadows are fixed across the board and that's a fact.
