How long until we get a "Linus-con"?

Dude, Cox-Con is a thing. Not saying that it shouldn't be, but if Crendor and Strippin can get a 1 hour long panel of non-content (aka the best panel in the history of conventions), then I think a LTT con is not out of the realm of possibilities.

Was that the thing they did when they opened the new (current) offices, or something else?

 

I think something like a lan party + side attractions (talks, activities) could work as a format, although I'm not sure how much people will be willing to travel for something like this.

Wouldn't it be so much easier to just get all the prominent LTT people to meet up at defcon? Which is coming up shortly, btw

It would be kind of cool if LTT had a convention for PC/tech enthusiasts, but IDK if we're at the popular capacity yet. Maybe if LTT collaborated with some other popular tech-tubers it could happen.
