My most embarrassing part would probably be my heatsink and my keyboard. Coolermaster Hyper 212+ and Microsoft Sidewinder X4.

why your heatsink?

An ECS A780LM-M2, it says phenom II all over and has an AM3 socket, but supports just about every single phenom II X4 on the market, except the one i had, I was too stupid (at the time) to realize this and the 30 day return policy was up. Shelled out about $120 on an ASUS M5A97 R2.0.

Anyone want an AM3 mobo? :T

CPU: AMD FX 8320e | Mobo: Gigabyte GA‑78LMT‑USB3 | Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper n520 | RAM: 8Gb @ 1333MHz

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 mITX | PSU: Antec HCG 520w | Storage: Sandisk 120GB - WD Red 1TB | Case: Modded IBM A50 sleeper

All displayed on an AOC I2421VWH

My motherboard, MSI H61M-E33 M-ATX, I've got a Titan running on that ;)

Or my dual monitor setup, one LG 27" 1080p monitor and a Samsung 20" 1680*1050 :b The colours don't even match, after hours of calibrating...

cant seem to choose between the ugly grey PSU with unsleeved cables, and the single fan xfx radeon HD 6870 on a shrunken down pcb, with a less than adequate heatsink,  only 1gb of vram, runs at up to 90°C under load at stock clocks, and sounds like a vacuum cleaner while doing so. Its like XFX just hired a bunch of monkeys in diapers to design this card, I would have been 10 times happier with a reference card.

I currently have and am using 2x 22" monitors. Both Samsung but one is LED backlit and the other isn't, one is 1080p and the other is 1680x1050. I got the former as a promotional thing when I got a laptop. Not sure if that's "embarrassing" but it's certainly not something I would brag about.

The most embarrassing purchase I ever made was a floppy drive in a build I did in 2005. At the time I wasn't sure whether I'd ever use it again but wanted it to be there if it ever came up. Plus all the floppy drives I had were an ugly beige/yellow colour. I got a black one so it would match my build...... and then never used it :)

Fools think they know everything, experts know they know nothing

I'd probably say my optical drive. Makes the front of my case look disgusting :P

That's why I got a define XL R2 ,I love the fact that my optical drive is hidden. But then again a huge, 35 pound, steel, case isn't for everyone.

This bad boy.  $15, but they keys don't register half the time anymore. I am torn between replacing it with a DS3 or putting that money towards my 290x fund... In my defense though, I use a G13 for gaming so it does not impair gaming.

Edit: forgot pic

OMG BUDDIES!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE THE SAME KB AND THE SAME PROBLEMS

Used to be my get-by rig until I could save up to build my current rig. It had a Pentium 4 HT 520 overclocked to 3.4GHz in an HP case I got for free. It was cooled by a single Vantec Tornado fan and was loud as hell. I used this with my AMD Radeon HD 7970 (which surprisingly fit) and Corsair CX750 PSU in the meantime and the CPU bottlenecked the GPU like hell.

Now it's my NEC stick mic (came form a Windows ME computer). I use this with my Sennheiser HD 558 headphones because I don't give two shits what it sounds like on the other end from my mic.

I recently upgraded to a Cool-It ECO-R120 water cooler for $27 at Micro Center, which doesn't come with any fans, so I have to use the cooler with my stock case fan (which has very low static pressure) which will get really hot (at least beyond what I consider a good temp) whenever I try to game though temps are fine for basic tasks such as internet/skype/ms office (FX-8350 at stock speeds). This is what I'm using until I can get a Corsair SP120 high-performance edition PWM fan. The water cooler with the stock case fan is worse than the FX-8350's stock cooler.
