Why would someone do this to a computer company's website? What a loser.

BTW... since it's been hacked, does that mean that person is able to see viewers ip addresses and stuff? (im not a programmer lol)

EDIT: I can understand someone hacking into a corrupt company's organization to reveal stuff or something.. but still...

The same reason most hackers do what they do. Dude found a previously unknown security flaw in the Asus' system, it'd be more cost effective for them to pay him to fix it than to prosecute him. Most people who do this kind of stuff get jobs out of it. Same with people who write viruses, they spent a little time in jail and then get hired by Anti-virus software companies when they get out. Not a bad way to get a job if you don't mind going to white collar prison for a little while.

No one hates ASUS, its just that someone wanted ASUS to know that there site is not hack proof. In reality no site or firewall is full proof

not all hacking is bad silly goose. depends what your motive is. If your intention is to cause harm then you are a black hat hacker, if they are good then you are a white hat hacker an if you sort of jump back and forth then you are a grey hat

So, what was the point of this? Seriously, hacking ROG has almost zero effect on anyone except ASUS.

anyone else lose faith/trust in asus for this? maybe I am over reacting but I feel its a huge security fail. Again I may be over reacting but it makes me want to change my parts list for my next built not to include asus stuff...something wrong with me?

Why would people hate on ROG? Though their boards are kinda overpriced compared to MSI Gaming boards.

Pointless hack is pointless, stupid hackers are just massaging their ego's "oooooo g0t pw3d i hax ur s1t3 lolololololololol" is likely what they're thinking. People like this need to jump in a rocket and fly into the sun.
