How is this Build?

Just through together this custom build, but lack confidence in its perfection, my part choices, and the systems stability. Anyone got any ideas? The system is built for cpu bound gamming, with less, but some graphic power. Plus, it should be VR ready for some time in the future when VR systems are cheaper.

If you want CPU bound gaming then an I7 that is overclock able is a must. Plus do you have a budget in mind?

I don't want to go over $1000 Not including Peripherals, the most intense game that this system is likely to play is Cities Skylines, and hopefully VR. I picked that PSU because I have used it in systems before, and its cheap for the price and quality, although the wattage is overkill. I didn't think that an i7 was necessary, I have a rig with an i5 4400 and It runs cities skylines perfectly, it just doesn't have enough ram. I don't have an explanation for the CPU cooler.

I don't think I need to overclock... I am actually building this for someone else, and they don't want the best best if they can save the money, and still run the Cities Skylines at 60 FPS 1080P Max Settings.

I like that new list, I will use that, as it is better in every way, and includes peripherals. Case wise, do you have any windowless, blue accented cases in mind?

Don't buy a Z170 with a locked CPU. Either get a 6600k and overclock it, or save money with a H110/B150 motherboard.

You don't need that fancy ram. Faster ram doesn't do anything unless you are using integrated graphics. get 2x8GB ram so you can have 2 empty slots for future upgrades. 2133 or 2400mhz should be more than sufficient (again, there is no perceivable performance difference).

If you want to buy a RX 480, wait for aftermarket models to be released. Stock RX 480s run loud, hot, can't OC much and have power issues; aftermarket cards should fix all this with a decent cooler and a 8pin (or more) power connector.

Lastly, don't buy a Raidmax PSU! Get a good quality unit from a reputable brand.

Update:

I have decided overclocking isn't worth the extra 40 bucks on the CPU, the non overcloking version should be enough. What cpu cooler should I get now that I am not overclocking?

If you go for a non-k CPU, you don't need an aftermarket cooler. But also, get a cheaper mobo too if not overclocking.

So you think the i5-6500 Stock cooler will be fine?

Should I get a cheaper PSU? I really want to get as close to $800 as possible.

I replaced the motherboard also, cheapest one I could find compatible with the ram and CPU. Anyone have an idea on different ram to go with a cheaper mobo?

Actually, I could downgrade the case to a Thermaltake Core v21, but it is micro ATX, Cheaper, smaller mobo that could fit in the case would work great.

Okay, I have got it down to $780. I now think we could make it a little cheaper by cutting down the PSU, I can't imagine this machine will use more than 300 watts.
