My internet speed is REALLY slow on my pc only

Hey , I need help figuring out why my PC is the only device in my house that is suffering from ungodly network speeds , I am currently trying to install shadow of mordor on steam and getting an average of 45kb/s download. When I go on the internet it rarely opens web pages. It started yesterday when my brother reset my router and ever since my pc has been getting shit internet speeds. I havent a clue what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated  HELP!

I have a PCI connected network adpater

PCI or PCI-E? It could be a faulty network adaptor or bad drivers, maybe that port on the router is faulty?
Have you tried another port on the router?

a router reset doesnt cause just one pc to get low speed.

PCI-E its an Asus Network Card

Happened to me not to long ago. Have 5 PCs, all was working fine until they all started to lag and became extremely slow. I thought someone is bandwidth hogging, so I disconnect all PCs except for 1 and speed shoots back up. Connect a 2nd PC and it's still OK, kept on repeating until I got to the last one. When I connect that, all PC internet connection begins to drop to the point where it's slower than 56K. Unplug 5th PC and problem goes away. Went out got a new network adapter for it and everything working fine.

Really? So you're saying that a switch or router can't have a NIC fail?
Electronics fail all the time, they're not 100% perfect, nether are you (or me) because you don't know what you are talking about :Þ

There are many complex solutions,but something that's easy and could be effective is TCPOptimizer.

Download the program and run it as administrator.

After that, you'll want to adjust the connection speed slider all the way to about 30Mbps or so. Then you'll want to go to the bottom bar that has Windows Default, Current, and Optimal.

 

 

Choose Optimal, Apply Changes, then restart your PC. No need to touch anything else unless you know what it does. This may or may not help, but it's worked for me.

Its a wireless card? That should help us out a lot.

This card is pretty cheap so don't expect that full 300 Mbit/s to ever happen.
Have you tried moving the router a little bit closer?
The connection is obviously being slowed down by a blocking wall, or any other structure.

Yes its a wireless card , my router is in my downstairs living room. but it was fine yesterday no problems at all and then after the reset it just went to shit

I think fixed it using that TCP Optimizer  its fluctiating from 200kb/s - 600kb/s thats alright considering theres 10+ devices connected lol

It was fine before that though. I was able to watch a movie while downloading shadow of mordor yesterday. So far its ok
