BF4 beta HEAVILY unoptimized?

Hirad123

There's a difference between pointing out bugs in a Alpha/Beta and whining something is broken like it's the final game.

There's a place to report issues with the Beta via the forums on Battlelog.

If you find something that hasn't been reported, go do it.

I don't even think his comment was about the game. It was just a play on words. The other guy said it was as smooth as glass than he said that glass isn't smooth when broken. Maybe it's just me but I don't even think he was talking about the game.

I can't really see any trend in terms of why some people are having optimization issues and some aren't. I can run it on high okay, but ultra isn't really playable and really should be with my system.

I'm getting crashes when I try and join a game server.

For me it is fixed now... still frooze/crashed my pc for a while!

Something must be wrong I get 100% CPU usage and 8 frames on all minimum settings. Its from the CPU not the gpu that the lag seems to be coming from.

I get about 30FPS (med) with 70% on my CPU (not sure about GPU) And i'm running 1440p! :D

Needless to say, I'm a happy chappy!

It took about that long for me to download it too. What beta drivers are these? I'm still on Catalyst 13.4 and my HD7950 is able to manage fine on high settings, with stuttering on ultra settings.

That's what my overclocked 7950 should be doing on ultra! but it does that on high settings too. My problem is bad optimization, the menu works fine. I didn't realize how much easier it is to fly a chopper with a mouse and keyboard. (Coming straight from console)

I installed few hours ago just for the giggles (since i do not care for FPS games) on 64 players server.

720p, ultra preset, CPU usage around ~80%, GPU usage around 98%.

FPS is usually around 20+ (depending on area). Going to low doesn't give much improvements (maybe 10FPS max, i don't know, didn't tested much).

When above 25FPS it is OK most of the time, above 30FPS very playable, under 15FPS it becomes unresponsive/laggy.

With recording, unplayable http://youtu.be/NBg6SqwuUJ4

It must be hard on Nvidia to pump out drivers to fix issues some people have and some people don't

This might be the one and only game I get to say this, seeing as i run an AMD cpu, but BF4 runs really (reaaally) smooth. Literally not a single micro-stutter or lag spike.

60-70 fps on 1080p with a mix of ultra/high. Only the occasional dip to 50-55ish fps for barely a second during combat.

Your system specs are also a lot higher than ours in terms of raw GPU power. Even then, it's crazy that even 2 GTX 680's is only delivering 60-70 fps.

it is crazier that my 2 gtx 580 are delivering high Frame counts.

Hello, I have a i7-4770k @ 4.2GHz, GTX 780 Asus Direct CUII, 1050w PSU Gold rated, 8GB of DDR3 Ram @ 1600MHz and when I get in a game, it feels like everything is stuttering. I know it's the beta but I don't think it's normal for my PC to stutter that much...Everytime I look around, I get major FPS loss ( Going down as low as 5 FPS ) and everything seems to freeze each 2 seconds...Anyone know how to fix this?

Sorry for bad english, not my main language.

Getting 70-100 fps mix of ultra/ high 1080p 120 htz monitor. With 8350 4.5ghz 7970 xfire with 7950.

After 5 hours of installing/ uninstall drivers and playing around with settings. I think I got the proper combo of drivers / settings for AMD rigs. Make sure turn off or even uninstall all over clocking utility (afterburner, trixx, etc). Use AMD uninstall utility from AMD website. Uninstall any cap profile. Reboot. Install 13.10bv2. Reboot. Reinstall mobo driver Cuz the AMD uninstaller deletes other drivers. Install 13.5 cap. After all that start oc utility disable ulps. Reboot. For those are having hang ups on loading. Goto punkbuster.com and update your version for bf4

Seriously hope this is fixed for the final game. It's just somewhat ridiculous for some people with Titan's and 7970's to be getting pinned at under 10FPS due to major driver issues..

Ah, I think I know why. The build of the game that we're playing is actually a few months old, so we're not getting any optimizations made in the past few months anyway. I think we can be confident that it'll be fixed in the retail build.

With an FX-8350 at 4.7Ghz and 2 x 680s in SLI... are there any games which you can't max out at 1080p?
