BF4 beta HEAVILY unoptimized?

Hirad123

Mine plays just fine on Ultra 1080p, although i'm using 1.8GB of VRAM in a 32 player game

Edit:

attachicon.gifbdfsf.png

Is that a steady 60+ FPS with that setup? I'm running a 4770k (not yet overclocked, due to my h100i no longer fitting in my Carbide 300R case -.-), 8 gigs of 1600mhz RAM and a 7950. I seem to have problems running it on high even :(

Oh and btw, my punkbuster seems to be failing horribly 24/7 atm, currently reinstalling the game, since that's what people suggested on the BF4 forum ._.

More like 50FPS with some dips into the 40s. It seems to work well for some people and badly for others

I see some of you have notived this already, but Dice them self has said that Windows 8 performs much better on BF4, also Windows 7 mostly seems to be the problem with people that complain on the Battlelog forum :P

Time to suck it up and change to Win 8 guys!

Also, the beta drivers on Windows 7 seems to give people lover FPS, so stay away from them if you will stick with 7

BF3 runs better on ultra than BF4 on lowest settings for me. (by lowest i mean textures & anisotropic filtering still on max)

And they did it agian another patch of 54mb.
DICE has it going :D

And they also added a timer for Obliteration so no round is longer than 20 minutes.

EDIT:
I tried it out and it runs now perfect for me constant 50-60FPS on Ultra and the FPS drops are gone :D :D :D

well for starters i wont have to upgrade for im hoping at least 5 years. I plan on moving to 4k when the monitors are more in line with $500 not $4,000. In my opinion 4k is nice but im perfectly fine with 1080 until  4k has more sizes and a cheaper price tag cuz ive only seen the 1 monitor that asus makes at 31 inches and has a price tag of $4,000

I don't think BF4 is THAT un-optimized. I mean on the ultra preset and 120 fov (no idea if that effects fps, just throwing it in there), and at 1080p my HD 7950 (1055/1550) runs it at about 60 fps average. At times i will dip into the 40s, but that is perfectly fine. I'm also on catalyst 13.9, so not even the latest beta drives.

Yes it definitely is better now than it was earlier. But still not as good as BF3 (obviously).

Wow, I have been getting 50-80 fps average 60-70 fps on domination on BF4 on 13.10 AMD driverson my 7970 and 4670k, I've just done a driver update to 13.11 and the new BF4 update on Origin today and now im getting 50 fps constant, So my actual fps has gone down with a driver update and a game update, How is this possible haha?

Edit: Doesn't matter haha I just reloaded the game and now it's better than it was on 13.10 drivers, This beta is a literal head case haha

NVIDIA suggests i download the beta driver for better experience, i'm getting 30FPS in all-ULTRA 1080p with a crappy looking image that looks even worse than the worse looking map on BF3 on which i get higher framerates for even MUCH better graphics quality, it's just insane.

I struggle to spot any difference between the Medium and Ultra setting beside some textures.

I know it's a beta, i know it's multiplayer but COME ON, you wouldn't even let 32 bits players experience it even while being a complete garbage.

EDIT : I have 2GB GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB of DDR3 CL9 RAM, i don't think memory is the limiting factor, there's some serious optimisation to do, not just in performance, but also in graphics, i barely spot any improvement compared to Frostbite 2.

Stop bloating nonsense, and reason to contribute in a constructive manner.

You need to crank up the settings, HIGH just makes it look like BF3 without the blue tint.

but it's a hell of a lot clearer and sharper then BF3 in open areas.

Go on an empty server and tinker around.

I hardly doubt that, and i strongly would like to believe that it's due to my drivers not being to render stuff correctly.

I've set this game to Ultra, and it's less clear than BF3, trees aren't even that realistic, sure there's that lens fare shit going on, but it's just... razzle and dazzle, nothing more.

I hope single-player or at least the final version deliver on visual quality, otherwise, Frostbite is a no game-changer compared to what CRYSIS 3 using CryEngine 3 even on Medium settings was able to put out earlier this year.

Stop bloating nonsense, and reason to contribute in a constructive manner.

Loving the particles, all the shit flying round..paper and whatnot in ya face, sure your even playing the same game...?

I see the difference. not texture wise, but feature wise.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
