Build for a friend, how'd I do?

Built this for a friend. He'll be editing and storing a TON of 1080P60 videos and clips. Did I do ok? Go overboard? Only thing I feel I did wrong was the video card, they do improve render speeds yes but he won't be gaming like ever, so was the 390 too big of a step up?

Might help if I link it. DOH.

Oh god. A double edit, cus I forgot to link again. I'm done. I retire. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BmYhM8

I thought about that as well, but won't they go out of stock uber quick? He isn't very pc wise no offense to him, but idk if he has the skills to track down remaining cards and stuff. I can ask him what he wants to do.

why does he need a dvd writer and wireless network card? Is Ethernet not an option? Also it would be a better decision to just wait and get a 480 or get a 1070 now.

Also if your just storing a ton of videos on the HDD a WD blue would be cheaper, meaning either the same storage for less, or more storage for the same.

Probably yeah, but the 390 would feel like a waste of Money for me.

I looked for a 7200 RPM blue of 3 or 4tb and found nothing, recommend any? Ethernet is not an option nor will it matter, his speeds are crap anyway, dvd writer he said he still uses CDs for some reason. (hes like in his 30s or 40s. he old lel)

thats because the 7200 rpm is for a high speed drive like a WD black. WD black is better for gaming, if your just storing videos you wont be utilizing the extra speed of the 7200 RPM WD black unless you constantly moving ( like a lot, its not like the WD blue is super slow) videos on and off.

Right I always just figured 7200 was the standard for drives, so 5400 won't hurt then?

nope, a 5400 rpm drive would be the better choice if its just to store lots of video.

Well not JUST storage, its going to be his main drive for everything he does that isn't on the SSD. But little to no gaming.

I would recommend that he get a RX 480, if he can wait until June 29th for its release. From early leaks, the RX 480 looks to have 5-10% better performance than the R9 390X- for only $230.
