2nd Monitor is Blurry

Turned on my computer and my 2nd monitor is blurry.

 

I did some testing and I think it's power related since both monitors work fine alone.

 

Okay I plugged them both back in and it works fine again? Could it have been a fluke?

Auto adjust?

Did you peck at the pc settings or the monitor's?

if the background and windows are affected, your resolution changed. Go to display settings and check your resolution and scaling settings 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Can you post pictures? Take a screenshot (with prntscreen) and one with a physical camera so we can tell if it's your GPU or monitor.

See I don't think it's resolution because that can't just change when you boot up right? I'm thinking it's power. I'll check it.

If the second monitor is connected through VGA cable, there could be your problem. VGA is analogue, low quality, especially at high resolution. Use DVI or HDMI or Displayport.

 

Make sure the second monitor is configured on the correct resolution in Windows.

 

If you connect it using HDMI, on AMD video cards (and probably nVidia too, but I don't have nVidia cards so...)  make sure the pixel format is the right one (Full RGB or YCbCr 4:4:4) and make sure the Scaling slider is set to 0% (sometimes it defaults to a bit of underscan which can blur the image a bit)

On AMD cards, click on Radeon Settings icon in system tray, hit the "Preferences" button, then hit "Radeon Additional Settings" and then you have the old control center style window. There, you have My Digital Flat-Panels and underneath it you have "Scaling Options" and Pixel Format

 

ps. It's extremely unlikely to have anything to do with your computer's power supply, an extra monitor makes the video card use probably 2-3 watts more. The monitor powers itself separately from the mains socket and it uses something like 20-50 watts, which is a very small amount.

it may be, windows tries to remember different resolution and screen arrangements based on what you plugged it into and changed it to, and can fuck up.

Also, windows update may have served you a gpu drive update.

So my monitors both work together again? Not sure if it was a fluke or what?

 

Also they are DP connections. This build has been running two monitors for a month perfectly fine.
