NVidia AMD - Crossfire Vs Sli

So I was looking at a thread and a few meme ers said AMD stutters with Crossfire but NVidia is cancelling Sli support... Why Arnt these two company's making a bigger effort something that could potentially double sales per customer?

do you really think that people want to spend twice as much money for some extra performance only in games that support it?

just look at the tiny % of people who use more than one GPU

its not worth it to invest millions into something a few people will buy

thats why there is no dual GPU GTX900 card

because it is often poorly supported, but amd's crossfire is pretty good, considering unlike nvidia they got rid of the bridge.

@Adored has done a video about the topic of multi-GPU, there's a good chance that AMD will provide dual-GPUs for the next gen consoles, or the generation after that. This would force devs to optimise for two AMD GPUs, leading to horrendously broken ports for Nvidia users. The reason this is being done now and not later is because one the APIs themselves now support multi-GPU, and it isn't a half assed patch baked on by AMD/Nvidia and the devs, it's also because GPU's are becoming more expensive to manufacture. So putting two small chips on a single interposer is cheaper than making one big chip that will have low yield and be expensive to make.
