You ever just doing research for hardware to potentially build a workstation out of old server hardware and you stumble upon something simply ridiculous? Me too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/15x-new-in-box-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-480-1-5-GB-GDDR5-SDRAM-PCI-Express-/172173717858?hash=item28165a7162:g:g1oAAOSwiYFXFrr4 

I want to know the story behind this, like what the fuck. Who has that, and why? Did newegg just go into the dark and dusty part of their warehouse? NCIX go trough their trash pile? Who the fuck thought they could get rid of those for the same price as two titan X's? And one more thing, what the fuck?

I'm not sure why they put the card on an ESD bag.

Perhaps older cards are more susceptible to static electricity? I mean they're new cards so that's probably just how they came from the factory.

1080P max settings with 35 FPS - 40 FPS. But hey, the card cost <$100 so it is a super duper good deal dude.

Nah, sounds about right. Doesn't make a lot of sense considering you could get a pair of 480's with water blocks for less than one card from that box.

Quadro 6000's sell for like $350-400 on e-bay, 480's go for less than $100 (unless you buy 15 of them apparently) so yeah, profit.

Putting them on an ESD bag is counter-intuitive - The outside is conductive, while the inside isn't. It forms a faraday cage around the product inside the bag. If the product is on the bag, and someone touches that bag, the static electricity will go to the PCB of the card.

That is pretty good considering some space heaters much smaller go for around $600-$1000
