I would just wait but I really could use an upgrade as my system is struggling with current games such as division but my main concern with this card is the water cooler.

Its an aio. 0 maintenance. The warranty should cover if its faulty. The Devil is also one of the highest factory clocked 390x(1100mhz).

So I've spent some time looking at the R9 390X wondering weather or not to buy it and I heard promising number in terms of heat from the Power Color AXR9 390X devil but im also wondering weather it is hard to maintained a hybrid GPU or safer to just go air cooled or not buy it at all and suck it up and just buy a GTX 980Ti and burn a whole in my pocket :D

I would appreciate any help in the matter.

at this point i would wait for Pascal. it probably wont be long before it drops and then the 900 series should drop in price but if you need to buy now the 390x isnt a bad card

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Either wait up till Pascal and Polaris come after 2-4 months or get a decent air cooled R9 390X (one from sapphire), water cooled GPUs then to have poor value to performance compared to their air cooled counterparts.
