Dark Souls 3 for PC unlocks at 6pm EST today. I cannot wait!!!  

 

I have been purposely avoiding any content, game play, reviews, everything so that the experience will be fresh and new with ZERO expectations. Praise the sun! \[T]/ 

 

 

Anyone else super-hyped for this?

So I have just been called off work for today...it was meant to be! I've never per-ordered a game before, but DS3 is pre-loaded on Steam and ready to go!

 

I am super pumped...PC is sitting under the plasma TV ready to burn.

 

Can't wait to get invaded by some asshole who already has 100 hours under his her belt and wreck 'em with a +1 straight sword or whatever Meh, who am I kidding? I will probably get one shot and gestured

 

Just hoping these old piledriver modules can drive 60fps on Radeon dx11 drivers, or at least that the tearing isn't too bad below that.

Lol, good luck with that. Play them in order if you can and I highly recommend summoning in people to help you. It's the only way to beat certain areas/bosses.

Oh, you don't know what you're missing. It's not for everyone, so I suggest you watch some gameplay first to see if it's something that would interest you. It doesn't hold your hand and is extremely ruthless. You will die. A lot. lol

It doesn't unlock until after I get off work, so no biggy for me. A friend of mine has booked off the next 3 days, just so he can stay home to play (and get ahead of us, the bastard! ). 

 

I'm switching monitors from a 24" 1080p to a 26" 1200p today - just in time.

Hell yeah man, nice upgrade. I bet your 980 still won't break a sweat locked at 60. I'm hoping that the game supports ARs other than 16:9 (I have no idea); that would stink to upgrade only to have to look at black bars

MEC-777 specifically stated he avoided spoilers and game facts, I doubt he knows the answer you are looking for. I'm sure you can find that out with a little searching, but please don't post what you find because that would certainly be considered a spoiler AFAIAC. I'd PM you, but I don't know either I watched the beginning areas on stream to make sure I wasn't throwing my pre-order money away and saw what I needed to see.

Yeah, it's only 300k more pixels and I've run many games at 1440 or even 4k with DSR and the 980 takes that like a champ. I run ROTTR at 1440p very high settings 60fps no problem, so I'm not worries about DS3 at 1920 x 1200. Curious to see what the DSR options will be available and how well they will scale on this. Even if the game doesn't support 19:10, running at 1080 with bars will still be bigger than 1080 on my current 24". Pixel density will be a little lower, but I'll just set the monitor a little further back.  

 

It's an older display as it only has VGA and HDMI, but it's barely used and I'm hoping the picture is good quality. Can't complain with the price of only $100 though.  If it doesn't look so good, I'll just use it as a TV in the bedroom.  

 

What to do while you wait? Watch movies or a TV series. The time will fly by.

This may come as a surprise to you still, but many of us use controllers for dark souls. Almost like some games work or feel better with one.

If you want to move like a drunk duck in dark souls then use your keyboard.

 

For aiming accuracy sticks are bad, but for character movement they are much more natural, and accurate, than wasd.

Myself and others have tried telling you before, but you don't seem to really care. You have your set ways and nothing else matters. 

 

You don't see people complaining to SMS because Project Cars plays like crap with a keyboard. Certain game types require certain control types to get the best experience. Plain and simple. As PC gamers, we have that option, regardless of the game or input method. Dark Souls was not meant to be played with mouse and kb. The game looks, runs and plays great on PC and there's really nothing else to be said on this matter.

So to change the subject - I've never played any kind of Souls game, and aside from difficulty and a grim looking world, I haven't really gotten a good grip on what's good about these games.

Yes, racing Games and Beat ém ups. I agree on that. And i would agree if this would be true with DS, which it isnt. 3rd Person Games can be played perfect, even better, with M+K. Lords of the Fallen is just one of many Examples. FROM are just lazy d~#+heads, but you Guys have the rose-red Glasses on an deny every justified critics on that technical nightmare and take everything like you would belong to FROM. But since you dont wanna hear me name things like they are, ok, I do you the favour and leave you alone. Maybe its a good Idea to post DS Threads in the Console Section, that´s where *ahem...* Games belong.
