Internet Won't Work Even Though Ethernet Cable Is Connected

Enzo2305

So I recently built a pc and it works fine. The problem is that my pc will not connect to the internet. I'm using windows 10 and a Asus Z170-A motherboard. I have tried everything including different ethernet cables, different ports on my router, and even downloading a driver on my laptop, putting on a usb stick. All to no success. Could you please help me find a solution?

Maybe the ethernet jack is broken on the MoBo.

The cheapest LAN PCI adapter costs 5-10$, so try that.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

I tried that but dont know how to make it work

That usually should be enough,

have you tried popping in the mobo driver disk once and installing all the drivers?

You should also look if your ethernet port shows up in the device manager

and if it says that its lacking some drivers or something like that.
