[HELP] What AMD Crimson Drivers To Install?

Go to solution Solved by klnh,

the latest one always

Hi, :)

So I've got my new GPU in my system (R9 390X) and there's 2 Crimson driver options on AMD's site:

Version 15.12 (WHQL) from 12/17/2015

Version 16.3.1 (NOT WHQL) HOTFIX from 3/17/2016

Which one do I install? Clean install BTW.

Help is gladly appreciated! :):):)

16.3 AMD doesnt make its new drivers WHQL certified for some reason but they are (mostly) stable.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

With AMD you should always install Beta drivers, they're rarely any more unstable than the WHQL certified ones, mainly due to not having to get them certified by Microsoft.

Well I used amd auto detecet after using DDU.

It installed 15.3 for my R9 390 nitro.

I had 16.something before and it was causing me some problems with displaying.

Will stick with 15.3 for some time and see if I get same problem ever again.

i find they quickly fix the hotfix drivers. one or two in past few months had unstable elements but were quickly fixed 1-3 days later. Im more annoyed we still cant update the all the stuff inside the application. or atleast link me directly to the download file currently associated with my OS and bit.
