Which Graphics Card for 1440p?

ThatsMyGamer

980ti or R9 390. 980ti will smash the Fury X and Fury in games like W3 and Project Cars. While overall, the Fury X and Fury aren't as ahead of the 390 in titles where AMD has the advantage as you might think.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

Hello! I'm wondering which graphics card I should use for 1440p gaming and video editing. I was looking at the 295X2 and the HD 7990 but both of these are either out of stock or extremely expensive (I'm talking Titan Z expensive). So, for AMD I'm left with the Fury X, R9 390, and R9 390X. For nVidia my best options are the original Titan, 980ti, 980, 780, 780ti, and 970. Additionally, I don't mind using two graphics cards or spending in the $600-$1000 range, but anything more than that I will regard with skepticism. Thanks for any help I can get!

the GTX 980ti

ahh, all along we though AMD was causing global warming

Actually, since Nvidia sells more cards and Intel makes hotter chips, AMD is the good guy lol

I disagree. I had a 1440P display with my 970 and it worked just fine.

Was playing GTA 5, Battlefield 4 etc just fine.

Did you have the game maxxed out?

I am running a 1440p monitor with a GTX 670 FTW with 2 GB VRAM.
Also playing games like GTA 5 etc. on high-ish settings (~60 FPS).
No of course I can not max out every setting, but that is also not needed.
If you think you need to max out every setting to make the game look good, I have bad news for you.
