I am running a laptop. AMD E2-3000M APU 1.8Ghz Dual Core CPU and an AMD Radeon HD 6380M. You'll do fine pal. Why would you call a 1 year old component old? For me I'd still call it new.

Outdated? LOL I am running a 2 core Intel cpu (very very old I forgot it's name) and a 9600GT gpu. Even though I can still play new games on 1080p (BF3 all low 25-30fps) considering BF is a pretty demanding game. So back to your question, you are definitely not outdated and will run new games for years to come.

Running a Athlon 64 X2 4200+ and a ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB, and with only 1GB of DDR2 800 memory. I'm DEFINITELY outdated, but weirdly, it still performs great, it plays BF3 at low ish settings okay which is pretty impressive for a system which is like twice as old as the game. I'm saving for an upgrade though, what about you? ;)

Depends on your definition of out-dated. Chronologically, most of us are. Functionally, 99% of us are still doing fine and making it work, give or take an upgrade here and there. I've had my rig about a year and a half, I plan to have it at least that long again, if not longer.

If you lag in explosions, just turn down particle effects. Very few, if any, of us can afford to constantly be on the cutting edge all the time. You've got a great rig that will serve you well for a long time to come :)

Kudos for 9600GT. :D

My bud uses the 8800 GT and still gets 30-45 fps in BF4 at 1440-900

I still need a 2nd GTX 670 but I wonder with things max at 1920x1080 will two GTX 670s be enough to get 60 fps in games with physX turned on ?  If the op likes physX then maybe he may need to upgrade.  Anyone have benchmarks for games at max with physX on running in 1920x1080 with SLI GTX 670s ?

1 660 Ti is enough for BL2 @1920x1080 maxed with physX on.

At 60 FPS ?

... and also I am talking all games with physX on ....

people talk of performance hits with it on so I doubt 60 FPS is easy to get with these games maxed and physX on

I never saw drops, and I can only speak on Borderlands 2 since its the only game that I know of that has PhysX effects that are worth mentioning.
