Vessel Subscription

Sup guys,

Just wondering, how many of you are going to pay for your vessel subscription after March and how many are going to drop back to YT?

I missed the window for the free year so I already pay for it.  I like Vessel..

But what do you think?  Worth it?

xD

I feel like Vessel just has too less upstream so that i can watch my videos fine. Still getting many hickups when watching 480p, but on youtube 720p is all fine (on my phone)

Since I only ever used the free year on Vessel for LTT I will not pay for it. I will just wait one week for them to catch on YT then watch their videos again.

No. The only thing I use Vessel for is LTT, and I've been getting so busy that I've not bee able to really keep up on videos before they hit YT, and I already have a YT Red account, so I'm not going to pay for another subscription that I will use once in a blue moon.

no, I only watch LMG content so I am not gonna pay to watch 8 or so videos per week.

I haven't been on vessel in months. Definitely wont be renewing subscription. I already pay for 20 other subscriptions services. I'm sure I can wait a week for videos . And if I wanna support LTT like I have in the past ill just buy their tshirts or donate to them.Vessel doesn't offer any value to me.

I ended my free Vessel subscription early - I'm way too much of a socialist to advocate one way for the rich and the people that can afford it and one rule for the poor and the people that can't afford it.

£3 a month isn't that much and I'd happily pay it but it's just the way the content is earlier, it gets to me.

I'd rather there was a patreon and people get extras if they subscribe and pay for that, at least you're giving them extra. With Vessel, you've taken the experience of getting the videos on time away from YouTube and given it to Vessel. Rather than giving the Vessel subscribers more, you've just given the YouTube ones less. This is not acceptable, I find this completely abhorrent.

It's like cancer drugs, the poor used to have them but then you delayed them by a year and now people have to pay more than they originally would to have them on time. This is wrong. Just wrong.

It also divides the community across a pay wall. This is like Linus' re-enactment of the British class system.

Wasn't there a post on this recently (with poll included)?

I canceled last month so I wouldn't forget. Problems with Vessel

  • Streaming quality is poo
  • Not enough creators on it and I can just wait a week for YT release
  • Because the viewing audience is so small (and therefore the revenue), creators are more interested in sticking with YT or Twitch
  • Chromecast app crashes mid video 95% of the time
  • Originally ad free, now has ads

The only hope I had for Vessel was YT took note and offered a lower tiered YT red ($3-$5/month just YT perks minus the music). But since Vessel isn't even close to being consider competition YouTube is just like nahh. Vessel came from the minds of the people who came up with Hulu, but it turned out to be a REALLLY watered down Youtube....
