Posted March 10, 2016 So, I am not really planning on picking up VR before at least upgrading my graphics card (especially after learning how much both HMDs cost in Europe), but I'd participate for science So, here's my default system: Durnehviir Cpu: Core i5-3350P (3.1 GHz, 4 cores) Gpu: Radeon HD 7970 (non-GHz edition, 925/1375 MHz, 3GB) Ram: 8GB Corsair Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 9-9-9-27 Score: 0.9 Well, that was a humiliating experience So I thought, maybe I could simulate a newer version of the graphics card by OC-ing it a bit: Durnehviir OC Cpu: Core i5-3350P (3.1 GHz, 4 cores) Gpu: Radeon HD 7970 (OC 1000/1500 MHz, 3GB) Ram: 8GB Corsair Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 9-9-9-27 Score: 1.4 This is still not that peachy, but at least I'm out of the red zone now And while I was at it, I feel like my Radeon can probably handle the OC, so I'd keep it for now and see how the real games fare. No I am not planning on using VR soon but I want the option to be open because I experiment a lot with new technologies. So its kinda sad that my rig did not make it. Actually I am very supprised because I am gaming on a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (UHD) and in a lot of games this goes very well with very high or maxed out settings. But when AAA games as GTAV only run maxed out on 1080P I shoud have seen it coming.
