Paranoid about temperatures

Go to solution Solved by Jacktastic-Mofo,

All g, homie g.

Have been monitoring my temps recently find the results a little drafty. Recently I changed my cooler to a hyper 212x and not too sure if the temps are fine.

-Ambiet:32 Celsius (lives in Singapore  hot and humid)

-Idle: Fluctuates from 39-44

-Load: Core 1:69 Core 2:68 Core 3:68 Core 4:68 (Jumps up and down)

-Fans spinning at 1700rpm

-Cpu at 1.15 volts

-Ran the load test with AIDA64 with FPU stress and Cache strees and Cpu stress

-Load test were better when rendering video with adobe premier pro less that 65 Celsius

-Gaming at 67 Celsius (Bf4 and gta5 were used to test)

-Using stock thermal paste that came with cooler

-Thermal paste applied with pea sized method

-Upgrading thermal paste to Artic-MX4, hpoing that the temps would be more stable and lower

-Bottom intake top exhaust

Does the results look fishy? Is idle temperature fluctuating normal for haswell cpus? Should I do a front intake back exhaust? Thank you for your time reading this.

Thanks for your replies, I can rest assured now. I will try changing my thermal paste to a higher grade one, hopefully i can bring down the temps by a few Celsius!

The difference will be 1-2c at best you know that right?

thermal paste doesnt really matter that much, the cooler is

if u want lower temps, get nh-d15 if your case fits or an AIO if your case can fit radiators

if u want extreme, go custom loop

if u want insane level, sub-zero cooling

if u want what-the-fk-were-you-even-thinking level, go liquid nitrogen/helium

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yeah, agree with the others about not bothering with the thermal paste, the temps you posted were from when running a stress test right? so the temps during normal use shouldn't come anywhere near that. Getting more intake fans might help a little, I prefer intake positive air pressure to try and keep the case cool, and just one exhaust fan at the rear personally.

Idle temp and temps in general fluctuating is normal. They represent the load on CPU. Windows PC is rarely if ever full on idle (<5% load). Usually those higher temps show light load like virus scan or browsing.
