RenzoRaptor

Hello! I am buying peripherals for my new gaming setup and I'm stuck between these:

Headphones: Sennheiser G4ME ZERO , ONE, PC363 or HD598 (I need it for CS:GO and other FPS, need positional audio)

DAC + AMP: FiiO e10k (The only DAC + AMP I know)

Other suggestions are welcome , but these are my options.

You don't need a gaming headset for "positional audio"

I recommend watching this for a general comparison between gaming headsets and headphones:

Better off getting a decent pair of headphones and a dedicated mic.

What's your budget?

@SSL Can advise further because my knowledge stops here.

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

You might just want to get a really good pair of headphones and then get a nice microphone. I have a Audio technica AT 2020 usb microphone and i love it

I have the G4me One.

If you absolutely need a built in microphone, get the G4me One.

If not, get the HD 598 or DT 990 Pro

Open headphones > Closed headphones. I was blown away coming from closed to open headphones, I can wear mine for all day

Do you have noise in your sound if no, you dont need an dac, can your onboard power the headphones to the volume you want if yes, you don't need a amp.

The HD 598 is kinda not wotrh it since the HD 558 sounds so close to them and cost less.

The game zero/one is not headphones they are headsets the same for  PC363.

@SSL has a guide for headphones.

I would say that you would look at the audiotechnica AD series since they have a really big soundstage and that is a really good thing for fps games.

If we talk turnoment yes they use in-ears since they need to have those big ass things on so they can't hear the people yelling, but if we talk private use then no they use real headphones.

nah, many of them use in-ears even if they don't need to use sound dampening headphones. or they use sponsor headphones for advertisement.

those sound dampening headphones aren't shitty, they are industrial quality. but they don't produce sound, only dampen it.

The G4ME Zero, G4ME One, 363, and 598 are all the same headphone(set) with two differences:

1- The G4ME One and HD598 are open / The G4ME Zero and 363 are closed

2- The G4ME Zero, G4ME One, and 363 have microphone

Personally speaking I would get the G4ME One, as open can be very beneficial for spatial positional audio.

Also, I would not buy an dac or amp with any of these, as it is simply not needed.

Yeah and he can power them with his onboard so he doesn't need an amp for them.

Okay, I sized down my option, having difficulty between the Sennheiser G4ME One or the Sennheiser HD598 + Antlion Modmic 4.0 Omni.

Need some help please? Thanks!

I'd recommend uni-directional modmic, otherwise it will pick up sounds in all direction. You may not want that, lol.

Any suggestion between the two headsets? Is the G4ME ONE basically HD598 but with a built in Microphone?

You seem to be an expert here!

Thanks for everything so far!

I'm no expert, I simply have experience with various headphones/headsets :)

As for the G4ME One or the 598, personally speaking I would get whichever is cheaper. Perk to the One is that the mic is attached, the perk to the 598 is that a modmic would be detachable.

As for 558 vs 598, etc. The 558 and 598 are almost identical.

It has a good soundstage.

I am not 100% sure but I think that the hd558 has a little bigger soundstage or the same.

If you intend to switch between headphones often, I would just go with a desktop mic. Because, well, cords suck.:)
